In the spirit of Halloween, here's a Jupiter ghost story on the Loxahatchee River. The tale of the haunted spirit of Trapper Nelson reportedly haunts the tranquil inland waterways of the Loxahatchee River running through Jupiter and Tequesta.  Years ago, in the early 1930’s until the late 1960’s, a strapping "casanova" known as Trapper Nelson made quite an impact on the area and the local area socialites!  He was nicknamed the “Wildman of Loxahatchee”. The ghost is said to roam Jonathan Dickinson State Park to this day.

Trapper Nelson lived deep in the wild, uninhabited land on the Loxahatchee River (which is now Jonathon Dickinson State Park).  He was born in New Jersey and his given name was Vincent Nostokovich. This man was the modern day “Croc…

The Town of Jupiter is home to one of the few remaining dog friendly beaches in the state of Florida. The town adopted the idea in 1989, that allowed dogs to roam on freely on the 2.5 miles of sandy beach in Jupiter.

On October 19th, a friend of Kristin Deaton of Jupiter, Florida was in town visiting after the unexpected passing of her mother, and accidentally dropped a very sentimental ring into the intracoastal at the marina behind U-Tiki Beach.

“This is the longest of long shots, but I believe in the good in people, and I need people to please SHARE this.” Deaton wrote on Facebook, “If anyone in the Jupiter area finds this VERY sentimental ring, PLEASE contact me. Yes, I’m aware it will probably take divers to recover it at this point, but in the off chance that it washes up somewhere, or is found, I will absolutely pay a reward. PLEASE SHARE in hopes that we can find this precious ring for our sweet friend!”

The same day, an admin of the Facebook group…
