Sailfish Marina has announced that they are re-opening the Palm Beach Water Taxi this Friday, October 2nd, with a few new guidelines.

The water taxi will be running Thursday through Sunday with departure times at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm.

The water taxi will not be making any pickups or drop-offs at Peanut Island, so they will only be giving narrated tours until further notice. The maximum capacity on both water taxis will be at the discretion of the captain to provide for social distancing, and masks will be mandatory at check-in, but not for the duration of the tour. Mates will sanitize all surfaces between tours, hand sanitizer will be made available, and there will be no temperature check before boarding.

Climb to the top and take in the spectacular sunset views tonight between 6:30 and 7:30pm. Visitors get an inside look at the nuts & bolts of a working lighthouse watchroom, and learn some Jupiter history. Tour time approximately 60 minutes, guests must check-in 15 minutes prior to tour and must wear face mask. Children must be at least 48 feet tall to climb the Lighthouse and accompanied by an adult. ChaseN’Tailz is a tax exempt nonprofit in Jupiter, Florida dedicated to changing the lives of needy families with children battling life threatening illnesses. Directed by Summer Warren, they change lives by relieving financial stress to provide families more time to create forever memories with their children and connect them with other families and resources. 

This weekend, boats will be out fishing for the 7th Annual ChaseN’Tailz Fishing Tournament to fundraise for the worthy cause. Fishing teams will compete out of Jupiter Inlet to find the largest kingfish, dolphin, wahoo, bonita, or snapper.

While the beach has historically been a good place for casual wear, the 1910 motorboat races in Palm Beach provided a place to see and be seen, as you can see in this image of the spectators by Bain News Service.

The Palm Beach Motor Boat Regatta was held annually by the Palm Beach Power Boat Association. Palm Beach society and high society from northern states would  set up chairs and umbrellas on Palm Beach to watch "speedy" motor boats race at a speed around 20 miles per hour.

Every Saturday morning, volunteers head to the beach and participate in the Self-Guided Beach Clean Up hosted by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The Self-Guided Beach Clean-Up is a new program this year and has been added to their weekly calendar on Saturday mornings.

Head to the beach tomorrow morning and stop by the Marine Debris Sorting Station on the back deck of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center to pick up the beach up supplies. Once the supplies are picked up, volunteers can make their way down to the beach and help keep our beaches clean and the sea turtles safe. When finished, bring your bag back to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center Sorting Station and receive a free t-shirt for helping.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach offers a unique program that allows you to Adopt a Sea Turtle. The program helps benefit the continuous care and treatment for the sick, endangered, and injured sea turtles.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a non-profit sea turtle research, rehabilitation center and sea turtle hospital whose mission is aimed to protect the ocean and all that live in it. Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their popular Twilight Yoga at the Light. Every Monday night throughout the month of September, head to the iconic red lighthouse for a Yoga class.

The outdoor Yoga classis held on the Lighthouse Deck at sunset every Monday night. All levels of Yoga are welcomed and encouraged to attend. The class size is limited, and registration is required online to reserve your spot.

The class is taught by yoga instructor Mary Veal. If you plan on attending, you are asked to bring your own yoga mat and water bottle, and all those who attend must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. The Yoga class lasts approximately an hour.

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida, along with show producer Informa U.S. Boat Shows and Broward County, announced Thursday that the 61st version of the annual boat show will go on as planned with new safety protocols. 

Precautions will include contactless ticketing system, 14 entrances, docks widened to up to 30 feet, temperature checks, and sanitization stations. All exhibitors and attendees will be required to wear face coverings, and all customer lines – including entrances, restrooms, and food and beverage stands – will be spaced out, with visual markers every 6 feet. Hygiene stations will be installed throughout the show area.
