With the busy holiday season upon us, take some time to de-stress and paint at the farm! Sons & Daughters Farm and Winery in Lake Worth is offering a wine glass painting class for you to use your creative expression and unwind. 

Amanda Hills of Creative Experiences will be hosting a night of painting, chatting, and relaxing at the beatiful farm. Decorate wine glasses with holiday themes or whatever you want! Materials and glasses will be provided- all you need to bring is yourself. Wine, beer, and kombucha brewed by Sons & Daughters will of course be available.

Bring your family to the Holiday Village Spectacular this Saturday, December 9th from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Hosted at the lovely Legacy Place in Palm Beach Gardens, the Holiday Village Spectacular will feature performances, holiday treats like hot cocoa and ginger bread cookies, Santa and other holiday characters, holiday crafts and other fun things for the little ones like giant slides and face painting. 

There will also be a toy drive for Little Smiles of Florida, an organization bringing joy to children in need. Bring an unwrapped gift for a girl or boy if you can.

On the second Friday of every month, the City of West Palm Beach shows free movies on the waterfront! In downtown West Palm at the the Waterfront Commons, the city turns the huge lawn area into an outdoor movie theater under the stars. They project free family-friendly movies and offer a special memory-making experience. 

This month, there will be a double feature on Friday, December 8th, airing "Frozen" and "The Grinch." The first movie starts at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair and get cozy on the soft lawn under the evening sky. Concessions are on site including popcorn, snacks, and beverages.

In October 2017, Americans purchased homes at the fastest pace in a decade- a 6.2% monthly increase nationally, and a 16% monthly increase in Palm Beach County, according to the Florida Realtors Association.

Why are people buying?

One contributing factor could be the result of the national interest rate on 30-year fixed mortgages continuing to drop. Last week mortgage rates dropped from 3.95% to 3.92% in comparison to 4.03% in 2016 (National Association of Realtors). Historically, lower mortgage rates have helped drive home sales and those looking to refinance the market.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has just released that their baseline limits for mortgages acquired by Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac will increase in 2018. (Frannie Mae is another name for the Federal National Mortgage Association and Freddie Mac another for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. Both were initially formed by the U.S. government to stabilize the residential mortgage market and widen opportunities for homeownership). 

The Housing and Economic Recovery Act requires baseline conforming loans to be adjusted each year to reflect the changes in U.S. home price.
