On Friday nights during the summer, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens hots their Summer Concert Series at their newly remodeled Downtown Park. The outdoor concerts are free to attend, and all are welcomed to celebrate the start of the weekend.

The concerts feature a variety of regional and local bands and tribute bands playing everything from jazz, rock, pop, reggae, country, contemporary, blues, and everything in between. The concerts begin at 7 pm and go until 10 pm.

The Summer Concert Series are supporting the Jammin’ Food Drive which benefits CoreGiving, The Palm Beach County Food Bank. Those who plan on attending are asked to bring a canned food or non-perishable items for a complimentary drink. Donation boxes will be scattered around the park, be…

For students in Martin County and Palm Beach County, this weekend is the last weekend of summer and the last weekend to take advantage of Florida’s Tax-Free Sales Holiday on clothes and school items.

The Tax-Free Holiday began on July 31st and continues until Monday, August 9th, just in time before the school year starts. During this time, shoppers will be exempt from sales tax in the state of Florida for certain school supplies, clothing, and electronics. The tax will automatically be discounted at check out when purchasing qualifying items.

Students go back into the classroom in Palm Beach County on Tuesday, August 10th and students in Martin County go back into the classroom on Wednesday, August 11th.

Carnivores prepare for a delicious new steakhouse heading toward Jupiter! Truthfully, not a completely “new” restaurant but a sister steakhouse of the renowned Okeechobee Steakhouse.  Owner Ralph Lewis announced he just signed the lease for the former Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant on the corner of Indiantown Road and Central Boulevard. Lewis plans to open Lewis Steakhouse sometime around November 1, 2021. 

Lewis stated “My goal has been to open a restaurant to which I could give some ownership to my longtime employees. Some fantastic restaurants in Palm Beach County have joined together to create the first ever Palm Beaches Restaurant Week beginning this August. For two weeks, visitors and locals will have a chance to savor local cuisine from a wide variety of eateries ranging from high-end restaurants to local neighborhood gems. Restaurants participating in the Restaurant Week have come up with a prix-fix menu and other dining deals to take advantage of.

There is a wonderful new smoothie and soft-serve shop in Delray Beach that is intended for lingering. The little café's name says it all “Joyfull”. Joyfull is an open-air, plant-based smoothie, soft-serve and latte shop located at 2219 Seacrest Boulevard in Delray Beach that opened several weeks ago.

The imaginative healthy cafe was the brainchild of wellness coach, entrepreneur, and former talent manager Leah Landon.  Leah has worked with top entertainers such as Lady Gaga, Fat Joe, Kelis, Eve, Mario and Jadakiss.
