Lighthouses are wondrous things, like the historic Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, beautiful, nonetheless incredibly useful. They serve two significant purposes, first, they serve as a navigation aid and secondly, to warn ships and boats of dangerous areas. August 7, 2021, is National Lighthouse Day.  If you are in the Jupiter area head on over to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum.

Celebrate how these scenic, historic structures guided travelers throughout the centuries. In 1789, the U.S. Congress passed an act securing the protection of all lighthouses under federal support. While lighthouse technology has evolved over time, lighthouses were once widely used to mark dangerous reefs, shorelines, and harbors.
