Winter is finally here in South Florida (well, kind of), and each cold snap is bringing us closer and closer to the sailfish bite heating up. This is when a special species migrates to South Florida - sportfishing teams in the pursuit of billfish, the tournaments, and the large amount of cash that can be won (and spent) along with it. Whether you're a kite fishing team on a pampered SeaVee or playing bait-and-switch from a custom sportfish, here is the 2019-2020 line-up of sailfish tournaments in South Florida.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach has added another event to their list of calendar events. The new event is called Pier History and it is every Sunday morning in Juno Beach.

Pier History is for all those wanting to learn more about the Juno Beach Pier. During the 30 minutes, you’ll learn all about the history of the 990-foot-long pier that the Loggerhead Marinelife Center began managing in 2014.

The Juno Beach Pier is a full-service saltwater fishing pier with a Pier house, Guest Service team, Gift Shop, Snack Bar and Fishing pole rentals and bait. The pier is situated in Juno Beach Park and is open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset.

On Monday’s, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts new Living Beaches event. Join the Marinelife Center staff and you local neighbors to learn about our beaches.

The hour-long interactive course will discuss the Florida’s coastal ecosystems and will discover how sea turtles make their way onto Juno Beach, one of the world’s most populated sea turtle nesting location in the world.

The tours and presentations provide visitors with a hands on experience while creating a lasting impression that connects the environment with the importance of protecting it.

The cost is free to attend and is geared towards those 12 years old and older.

Looking for something to do that the whole family will enjoy? Come out to McCarty Ranch Preserve this Saturday for fun, fun, fun!
