The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting the first Family Adventure Day of 2020. In 2020, the Jupiter Lighthouse is also celebrating its 160th Anniversary.

Come and spend the afternoon on the waterfront with adventures to celebrate Florida’s history and maritime heritage inspired educational activities. Activities include storytelling, visits from historical characters, fishing, arts and crafts, special exhibits, music, games, activities, demonstrations and much more.

It's that time again for the 2020 Stuart Boat Show. The annual boat show is the largest Boat Show on Florida’s Treasure Coast.

This year, The Stuart Boat Show has been named as one of the “Top 20 Events” in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. The Stuart Boat Show is the premier event for the area. Beginning on June 16th, 2017, West Palm Beach artist Rene Gibson undertook a project the entire sportfishing and art community has been watching intensely since then. Starting with adorning a single Swarovski Crystal to the tip of the marlin bill, Gibson meticulously placed over 100,000 crystals to create the most brilliantly glistening full-sized taxidermy marlin you will ever see.

Throughout the two-year process, Gibson shared her progress on Instagram for enthusiastic fans, and on June 29th, 2019, Gibson let her daughter place the very last crystal to complete this beautiful piece of art.

This weekend, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their Hike Through History event.

The Hike Through History includes a 2-mile journey through the lighthouse’s 120 acres Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area. Along the way, guests will learn about the history that was shaped by nature.

The program is open to adults and children. Children must be accompanied by an adult and be at least 5 years old. Hiker footwear, active wear clothing, a hat and a full water bottle are recommended for the Hike. The Hike starts at the Museum’s flagpole and the event is weather dependent.

Established in 1935 by the West Palm Beach Fishing Club, the Silver Sailfish Derby is the oldest running sailfish tournament in the world. Limited to 50 boats, the 2020 Derby is sold out.

The Silver Sailfish Derby is a tournament with a massive amount of history, credited with developing the red release pennant and as one of the front-runners in promoting catch and release. Ernest Hemingway was a Derby trophy sponsor at one point, and the only time the tournament didn’t run was for three years during WWII.

The Derby features a two-day, Thursday & Friday, fishing format - a measure that was taken to avoid competition with weekend anglers and to foster increased tournament participation.

As we ring in 2020, we reflect on a turbulent year helping our friends at Old Bahama Bay rebuild after Hurricane Dorian. Winner’s Circle Charities was the first organization cleared by the President of OBB to arrive at the docks, and swiftly organized donation drop-off locations, sponsored Costco trips, and secured hundreds of boats to respond to the needs of families and friends in the Bahamas. Rest assured, OBB is back and better than ever! The holidays are a delightful time with lots of celebrations.  The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is partnering with Palm Beach County Law Enforcementto share the message and remind the public about the dangers of drunk driving. 

This New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019, law enforcement will participate in the high-visibility national enforcement campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”. During this time, local law enforcement will show zero tolerance for drunk driving. Increased state and national messages about the dangers of driving impaired, coupled with enforcement and increased officers on the road, aim to drastically reduce drunk driving on our Palm Beach County roadways.

Despite a little wind and rain, the 2019 Santa Slam Kids Fishing Tournament sold out this past weekend, welcoming 77 junior anglers to fish on the Juno Beach Pier with Santa.

From Hobe Sound to Boca Raton, South Florida families drove from near and far to support this family-friendly event in order to fundraise for ChasN’Tailz Foundation, a local non-profit children's charity funding needy families with very sick children in memory of Chase Warren.
