This Tax Tuesday, Kona Ice says "no taxation without relaxation" which is why they're handing out free Hawaiian-style shaved ice tomorrow in the park.

Kona Ice is a shaved ice truck franchise and a frequent favorite at many Palm Beach County events. They've turned tax day into National Chill Out Day and the local truck will be at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton handing out free cones from 3-5 p.m.

Recreation officials are taking part in chill out day too and they'll be set up by the Pirate Cove Playground with info about upcoming events and programs. On the 55-acre park there are two playgrounds, a walking trail, open fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic tables, pavilions and a community center.

Excited about their new poolside decor and giant pink flamingo floaties, the Hilton West Palm Beach is holding a pool party and brunch open to the public for no charge.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veterans Affairs is granting $43 million to public housing agencies (PHAs) across the country to help homeless veterans.

Florida will receive around $568,000 of the grant which will be split among 13 housing agencies in the state. Two PHAs in West Palm Beach will be beneficiaries to help end veteran homelessness in Palm Beach County. The Florida Indian River County Board of County Commissioners in West Palm will receive $15,001 and the West Palm Beach Housing Authority will be granted $72,039.

Rising rent costs are pushing millennials to purchase homes and their wants are much different than the 55+ aged buyers who are house hunting too,

Chief economist for realtor.com, Danielle Hale, says they've found a clear difference in priorities based on recent surveys. Come support our local children and teens practicing the art of filmmaking. The first event of its kind in Martin County, the Youth Driven Cinema Film Festival will feature short films created by local kids about Florida's endangered ecosystems. 

Over the past few months, the Environmental Studies Center and Council announced the creation of the film contest and festival, asking Martin County kids grades K-12 to make a video with the theme "Spread the Word, Florida's Ecosystems Need Our Help." Student filmmakers gathered in teams of four to find ways to portray environmental issues as well as ways to fix these problems.

The Four Seasons Palm Beach Resort isn't just for visitors. Many residents book the hotel for a yearly staycation or to host a high-end wedding or important business meeting. As if it weren't luxury enough, the Four Seasons is closing down at the end of May for a full-body renovation inside and out. 

For starters there will be a can't-miss feature right outside the front door: a 5-story, 45-foot wide Banyan Tree picked out by landscape architect Fernando Wong.
