Sunday on the Waterfront is a family-friendly concert series held in West Palm Beach.  It takes place on the 3rd Sunday of each month in Downtown West Palm Beach.  The concert series features national and regional recording artists. Sunday on the Waterfront, February 21, 2021 will feature the  Valerie Tyson Band.

Palm Beach Opera’s first-ever outdoor festival, February 19 – 27, 2021, features a star-studded cast of live performances. See performances of iconic operas such as: La Bohème, Pagliacci, and Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) at the South Florida Fairgrounds’ iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, located at 601-7 Sansbury Way, West Palm Beach.

In South Florida during the 1950’s through 1980’s, 26 self-taught African American artists grew to be known as The Highwaymen. GardensArt in Palm Beach Gardens is hosting an exhibit by The Highwaymen.  The exhibit will run through March 4, 2021.  They spent their weekends selling their artwork out of their cars because during segregation, African American artists were not permitted to sell their artwork in galleries.

As an additional source of income for those who might otherwise be working in citrus groves or packinghouses, these artists painted.  Unable to get canvas, these artists painted the oil paintings on old construction supplies, like Upson board. Upson board was an affordable fiberboard comprised of recycled wood.

The City of West Palm Beach is excited to offer a new event starting tonight during their popular Clematis By Night event. Clematis By Night includes local bands and musicians performing at the Meyer Amphitheatre on the waterfront.

In addition to the live music tonight, the city is planning to debut their new Clematis By Light event. The newly renovated Centennial Foundation located at the east end of Clematis Street will feature a light and water show. The show that will kick off the event is the “Love Our CommUNITY”.
