News broke earlier this week that a new hospital could soon be coming to Northern Palm Beach County. The plans are still in its earlier stages and the county would still need to approve but a new hospital may be coming to Palm Beach Gardens.

A Pennsylvania based company, Universal Health Services has recently submitted plans and an application to the city of Palm Beach Gardens Zoning and Development Department. The company is seeking to purchase a 34-acre parcel of land in the new Alton subdivision near Donald Ross Road and Interstate 95.

Its that time of year again, where we change the clocks ahead one hour and look forward to spring, summer, and longer daylight. This Sunday, March 14th at 2 am is when the official Daylight Savings Time begins and lasts until November 7th.

Daylight Savings Time requires most of the country to turn their clocks ahead one hour. Former Governor Rick Scott and Florida Lawmakers signed a bill in 2018 called the Sunshine Protection Act that would make the permanent change across the country, but the bill has not taken effect yet. The bill is still waiting on congressional approval.

One of Palm Beach County’s popular attraction is opening this weekend for the Spring and Summer season. Rapids Water Park is opening this Saturday and is the largest waterpark in all South Florida. The water park features more than 30 acres of splash zones, pools, waterslides, and more.

The water park is spilt up into three sections, a Thrill Ride section, Family Rides, and Kid’s Zone. The Town of Jupiter has announced that their annual Jupiter U, is going virtual this year. Jupiter U is set to take place this April form the comfort of your own home.

Jupiter U will include a series of virtual tours of landmarks and areas throughout Jupiter. The tours will still highlight the important facts and aims to educate the residents about their local government and our unique town.

The virtual tours will be uploaded in April and will be available for residents to watch on demand anytime. Its that time again for the 28th annual Pet Parade and Contest happening along Worth Avenue. The annual event is a local Palm Beach favorite.

This Saturday bring your beloved dog, cat, bunny, or whatever cuddly pet you have and cruise down the runway dressed in costume. All pets and all sizes are welcomed to join in on the day of fun. The event takes place in Via Amore, right off Worth Avenue. The popular event draws hundreds of spectators every year.

On the second Saturday of every month, Hobe Sound hosts a Second Saturday Food Truck event. Head to the charming area of Hobe Sound for a day filled with great food, live music, and friendly neighbors.

The Food Truck event is being held at Broward Motorsports Treasure Coast located along SE Federal Highway. Normally the event is held along Bridge Road and SE Dixie Highway, but this month the location has changed.

Science with Sam is back at Jupiter’s River Center this week. On select days during the month, Scientist Sam is hosting an after-school program aimed for children in grades K through 5th grade.

The science activities in the program include activities such as garden exploration and many hands-on opportunities with wildlife. The event is hosted several times a month and each month has a different theme. The theme for March is Powerful Pollution and Carnivores.
