A much-needed reservoir is one step closer to construction with the Army Corps of Engineers and White House Office of Management and Budgeting approving the $1.4 billion project to limit toxic discharges from Lake Okeechobee. After decades of destruction to Florida waterways, crucial restoration plans are moving forward with the green light from congress.

Water from Lake Okeechobee, which is currently 90 percent covered in cyanobacteria according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, gets pumped east and west into the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee Rivers nearly every day during the rainy season when the one trillion-gallon lake can’t hold anymore. The bacteria infested water then travels through these rivers picking up runoff from…

Jupiter Hills will make Florida golf history this month when it hosts the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship on May 19th-23rd, making it the first course in the state to hold multiple USGA Championships.

Jupiter Hills was created by Hall of Fame architect Tom Fazio, who designed more than 40 courses in Florida. Fazio has 14 courses on Golf Digest’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses- more than any other designer alive.

The Jupiter Hills course is different than any other because it is built upon natural hills of a sand ridge that runs all the way up to Vero Beach. There was never a need to bring sand to the course and yet each hole has a 40-50 yard elevation change. “There was a geologic study that showed where Jupiter Hills was built, thousands of…

Enjoy fresh, local seafood just steps from the ocean. In Palm Beach, there is only one true outdoor restaurant at the ocean’s edge. Atlantic Bar and Grill, located in the Four Seasons Resort, 2800 South Ocean Boulevard, Palm Beach serves lunch and dinner daily.

The Executive Chef, Tory Martindale, feels food should be fun and whimsical.  He is quoted as saying, “I love to create dishes by mixing different cultural pinpoints of flavor and style. A chef’s mind is a giant library of flavors, combinations, techniques and plating concepts. Whenever I build a dish, it’s like flipping through a massive directory and finding the nuances that may connect one item to another and then synergizing it all into what you are creating at the moment.”
