Just one year after turning pro, Jupiter Island resident Tiger Woods wins the 1997 Masters, shooting a then scoring record 18-under par for the week. The youngest person ever to claim the Green Jacket, Tiger won by a Masters record 12 shots, a record that still stands today.

Woods has since gone on to win the Masters 4 more times, with the latest being in 2019.

The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation has been artificial reef building over the past 7 years. The Foundation is in Jupiter and pursued the foundation's mission of "enhancing and protecting the marine environment" by raising over $2 million to build over 1.5 miles of new reefs offshore of Jupiter and Juno Beach.

The Foundation was created to honor the memory of Andrew Harris who was struck by a boat while snorkeling in the Jupiter Inlet on June 8, 2014. The foundation’s work will help assure the long-term health and vibrancy of the local marine environment where Andrew loved to dive and fish.

Registration is now open for the annual Run 4 The Sea. The run is put together by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach and this year marks the run’s 10th year since beginning. The 2021 Run 4 The Sea will be a little different this year than previously. This year the run will be completely virtual and will be able to be completed from a location of your choice.

The 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea is open to all runners, walkers, and hikers of all ages. The race benefits the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission which is to promote the conservation of the ocean’s ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles.

What is a cypress knee you ask? A cypress knee is a unique characteristic of a cypress tree forming above the roots. Community foundations typically accept charitable donations and grant funds to a wide variety of causes, such as community services, the arts, education, the environment, health, and disaster relief within a specific geographic region. Here in Jupiter the Waterfront Way Foundation gifted Jupiter High School students a glistening new school bus as a holiday gift following a match-by-match donation. A total of $107,000 was raised for the new motor vehicle.

It is the final week of Spring Training games in Palm Beach County. The county is lucky to be home to four professional MLB baseball teams during their Spring Training games at two local stadiums. The Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is home to the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins. The FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is home to the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros.
