Time to connect with nature and it has never been more interesting and fun than the Daggerwing Nature Center. It has so many opportunities for youngsters and their families to take advantage of being outside.  Daggerwing is located within Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, 11435 Park Access Road in West Boca Raton. 

Daggerwing presents a 3,000-square-foot exhibit hall with live animals, butterfly garden, and an art gallery. Outdoors, the nature center, offers a raised boardwalk with two trails. Take a breather on your walk at the safe observation tower and you might see turtles or an alligator.  You are sure to catch a glimpse of as ospreys, woodpeckers, and butterflies, including the nature centers namesake, Ruddy Daggerwing butterfly.

This upcoming Father’s Day weekend, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center will be hosting their 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea. The run is to help raise awareness and raise money for endangered sea turtles and for ocean conservation. This year, the race will be a little different than previous years. The Run 4 The Sea is going virtual, and runners will get to pick its location.

The run, even though virtual, will still benefit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission to promote the conservation of the ocean’s ecosystems with a special focus on endangered and threatened sea turtles. Nadine Moody has served as the Fitness Director at The Club at Ibis for more than 20 years, and last week she was honored for all her hard work, being named the Best Personal Trainer in the 2021 Best of Palm Beach County Community Choice Awards.

The city of Palm Beach Gardens is planning on building a new sports complex to be built at The Gardens North County District Park next year. In March, City Officials approved the plans to build a new 200,000 square foot facility that will include ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, basketball courts, and other amenities.

Commissioners approved a lease agreement within the city and the non-profit Palm Beach North Athletic Foundation Inc., to build a two-story, 200,000 square foot facility on 17 acres of land within the North County District Park. The Park is home to 82 acres and the foundation plans to raise money to build the new approved facility.
