Lee Trevino and the late Payne Stewart were amongst the seven golfers inducted in the PGA of America Hall of Fame Thursday at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens. The induction ceremony was the culmination of the PGA of America's annual meetings that began Tuesday. 

Trevino is a six time major winner, including two U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, and two Open Championships. Trevino also played on six Ryder Cup teams spanning three decades, posting a 17-7-6 record, and served as captain in 1985. Trevino has also been quite the philanthropist in his lifetime. The latest quarterly report by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), released November 12, 2015, asserting that median prices for existing homes in metropolitan areas continued to climb in the third quarter of 2015, but at a healthier pace that could entice more homebuyers into the market.

"Many of the metro areas with the fastest price appreciation over the past year were in the South — particularly in Florida," says Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist. The economist stated that Florida, in particular, had some of the strongest price appreciation.  Yun stated without question the housing market had its best quarter in nearly a decade. The Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival is in its 28th year history this weekend, November 13 -15, 2015.  The festival is one of the remaining few true street festivals in South Florida and one of the largest!  The weekend of festivities acknowledges the “community’s rich pineapple heritage.”

John Lawrence Jensen, of Denmark, arrived to the area in 1881.  He set up his plantation and began cultivating and farming pineapples. This area became known as the Town of Jensen. Diner en Blanc is a global mass “chic picnic” event, in a public space, spanning five continents.  It is an elegant “flash mob" gathering of diner guests, dressed formally in all white, participating in the refined elegance of Parisian days by gone. Veterans Day is a day celebrating and honoring anyone who has served in the United States military. The notable holiday’s origin began as a day to memorize the end of World War I and those who served in it. At the time the day was known as Armistice Day and it was then declared a holiday by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919. It did not become known as Veteran’s Day until 1954.

There is an ancient sport that is making a comeback in South Florida that is called Dragon Boat Racing. Imagine paddling with a lot of upper physical strength just after undergoing treatments and/ or overcoming breast cancer. In Palm Beach County, dragon boating is regaining popularity and is quickly becoming a movement that is impacting breast cancer survivor’s spirits!

If you never heard of dragon boating, it is one of the fastest growing water sports in the world. It is a team paddling water sport that has its roots in a folk ritual of villagers originally from Southern China. For dragon boat races, the boats are generally assembled with decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails.
