Waterfront Properties and Club Communities own Abraham Kamor won the member-guest Tennis Championship at Admirals Cove. Competing with his partner Matt Weague, the two won the championship this past weekend. The tournament consisted of 20 teams of Admirals Cove Tennis Club members and their guests.

There were three flights with the winners of each flight advancing to the semi-finals. Abraham and his partner Matt won their flight before winning their semi-final and championship matches.

Burt Reynold's Ranch in Jupiter Farms

The property located at 16133 Jupiter Farms Road in Jupiter has a long history.  It is rumored to have been a gangster hideout in the 1920’s and was owned by legendary actor Burt Reynolds in the 1980’s.  Notorious gangster Al Capone built the original home on the property in 1923.  Reynolds owned the ranch for years and shot scenes from the immensely successful “Smokey and the Bandit” movie, as well as scenes from the television series “B.L. Stryker” there.  He also married television actress Loni Anderson at the chapel on the grounds in 1988. In addition to the movie studio, the ranch also had a petting zoo!

An Australian golfer had never won the Masters. That was until this past weekend, when Adam Scott ended two streaks. Scott won his first major championship in his 48th attempt and brought his native country of Australia its first ever green jacket.

Scott wins in Playoff- Scott defeated Angel Cabrera in the second playoff hole on Sunday to get that first major championship that had seem to escape him over the past few years. After both Scott and Cabrera pared the first playoff hole, the moved to the 10th hole for the second. PGA National Resort and Spa will play host to the 3rd Annual Caring Fore Cadets Charity Golf Tournament on April 27. The tournament will be held on the newly re-opened Jim Fazio designed Fazio course.

After winning tournaments in two of the last three weeks and finishing ninth last week, Lewis takes the top spot in the Rolex Rankings for the first time in her career, just in time for the season’s first major.

On Sunday, April 7th Martin Downs Golf Club in Palm City will host The Big Tournament. The event will benefit the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

Entry for the event is $200 per players and includes cart fees, a raflle ticket, goodie bag, lunch, and two tickets to The Taste of Martin County event held on April 9th. The Taste of Martin County even will take place at Memorial Park in Stuart.

April 2nd is Autism Awareness Day and what a better way to acknowledge the day and help a worthy cause then at the Square Grouper Tiki Bar. Jupiter resident Ernie Els and the Els for Autism Foundation will be hosting its second annual Light it up Blue night at one of Jupiter’s premier spots.
