Our area is unlike any other and they are just like us. They cannot get enough of our natural, undisturbed beaches and neither can we!  Its sea turtle season and one of the most exciting times of the year for sea turtle lovers.  Every year thousands of sea turtle dig nests on John D. MacArthur Beach State Park in North Palm Beach, making it one of the highest density nesting beaches in Florida.

The season actually started in late March when the Leatherback sea turtles make their first appearance of the year. Then in April, our most abundant nesters, the Loggerhead sea turtles (Waterfront Properties favorite and insignia) appear. Join the city of Palm Beach Gardens as they take the weekly green market from outdoors to the cool air-conditioned indoors.  Previously held outside of City Hall, the green market will relocate indoors at STORE Self Storage & Wine Storage on Military Trail in the Gardens for the summer season.

The Palm Beach Gardens green market is a farmer’s market full of wonderful produce, flowers, plants, breads, seafood, bakery items, cheeses, sauces, and much more! With the calendar turning from April to May, it is time for golfers from around the country to try and qualify for the U.S. Open in June. Admirals Cove will host the first in what will be a series of month long qualifiers at different locations around the country on Friday, May 3rd, and the Golf Channel will be live from Admirals Cove throughout the morning.

Tim Rosaforte from the Golf Channel will be covering the U.S. Open qualifier on Friday. Rosaforte will be reporting live from the East Course at Admirals Cove during Golf Channel's Morning Drive program from 7-9am.

For the 12th consecutive year, hall of fame third baseman Mike Schmidt will be holding his annual fishing tournament at Old Bahama Bay to benefit cystic fibrosis.

wcc_nu_logo_927_01Since the inception of the event, the Winners Circle Charities have raised more than $1.5 million toward cystic fibrosis research. For the second straight year, Steve Moynihan and HMY Yachts has partnered with Schmidt for the fishing tournament.

Waterfront Properties managing partner and Admirals Cove resident Rob Thomson is one of the committee members again this year and will be participating in the weekend fishing tournament.  Some of the other people participating on the committee this year are Debbie Weinstein, the mother of Brett Weinstein, who the charity was originally started for.…

In the month of May, the USGA will hold its annual US Open golf qualifiers all over the country. This year, Admirals Cove has been chosen to host the Palm Beach County area qualifying event on its East Course.

The qualifying tournament will be an 18-hole event and will take place on May 3rd and will feature some of the top amateur and local pro and semi-pro golfers that have not already qualified for the tournament. In order to be eligible to compete in a USGA US Open qualifier a golfer must either be a professional or have a handicap of 1.4 or lower.

Those players that are successful at the local qualifiers will advance to a sectional qualifying event. The sectional qualifiers will be a 36-hole event that will be held at 11 sites that are to be…

Celebrate EARTH WEEK with the Town of Jupiter at ECOFEST on Saturday, April 27, from 11:00am – 4:00pm at Riverwalk Events Plaza (under the Indiantown Road Bridge). Going into this past weekend, Team USA was undefeated when a Fed Cup Qualifier was held in the state of Florida, including 2-0 in Delray Beach. After this weekend, the perfect record stayed intact.  

tennis_300The United States defeated Sweden 3-2 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center to earn a spot in the 2014 Fed Cup World Group. Palm Beach Gardens residents Venus and Serena William lead the way with two of the three wins for the U.S. side.

Serena, the world’s number one player, defeated Sofia Arvidsson 6-2 and 6-1 on Sunday, giving the American side a 2-1 lead. That win set up the opportunity for Venus to clinch the victory for Team USA. Venus defeated Johanna Larsson 6-3 and 7-5 to take a 3-1 lead and ultimately advance Team USA to the Fed Cup World Group.

Turtle Trot 5K 2013

The Town of Jupiter is bringing back its beloved, annual Turtle Trot. This is the 23rd annual Turtle Trot 5K and it sure to set the bar high!

Runners from all over the area come out to run from Carlin Park down the beach road (A1A) to the Jupiter Inlet and back. Thereare 15 age groups for the race and the top 3 male and top 3 female runners from each group will take home awards. Some of the new things to look forward to this year in the race include group registration and the kid’s fun run! The group registration allows for 3 or more runners to run together as a team, the team with the most participants will win an award. For the kids, the fun run is a mile long run that is not timed. It is perfect for kids 11 and under!
