Food Network celebrity, Chef Jeff Tila, will be in Boca Raton next Friday, September 21st, giving a live demonstration at the St. Andrews Estates retirement community. The event will benefit the Acts Samaritan Fund, which supports residents who outlive their financial resources.

Chef Tila has appeared on multiple Food Network favorites including “Chopped,” “Cutthroat Kitchen,” and “Iron Chef.” His modern Asian Fusion cuisine is a specialty and he is among the best in the world.

The Palm Beach County March for Hunger fundraiser will be held this Saturday, September 15th from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Catherine Strong Splash Park in Delray Beach.

13,000 acres off of Beeline Highway in Palm Beach Gardens will get a fishing pier, nature trails and pavilions for local fishermen, hikers and nature photographers.

The acreage is in the Loxahatchee Slough, the largest nature preserve of the county’s 30+ preserves.

The new hiking, biking and equestrian trails will appeal to the outdoors people.

Melissa Rinaldi, a professional artist as of 4 years ago, is finishing up a mural at Harbourside Place. Commissioned by the city, Rinaldi is painting a giant map of Jupiter, as she’s known for her colorful, playful renditions of maps.

Melissa Rinaldi attended Flagler College in St. Augustine where she majored in Political Sciences and worked as a real estate attorney for 8 years. Fours years ago, she moved to Jupiter and began painting, selling her pieces online. As her popularity grew, she now has a studio at 118 Coastal Way and is working on the Harbourside mural.

Earlier this week, famous course designer, Jack Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara, opened the Golden Club Mini Golf Course on Main Street in Jupiter.

The course was celebrated on opening day by locals and even some golf pros who found the course a good challenge, with sophisticated turns and elevations that are one-of-a-kind pro designed. The course is the only putt-putt designed by Jack Nicklaus.

The concession stand on the course serves beer, wine, ice cream, milkshakes and lemonade. A dollar from every ticket sale will benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Healthcare Foundation. In 3 weeks, the German American Club of the Treasure Coast will once again celebrate the famous Bavarian holiday, “Oktoberfest,” with a weekend full of fun.

Just in time for alligator hunting season, the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission is offering two free courses required for Florida hunters.

On September 22nd and 23rd at the FWC regional office in West Palm Beach, people interested in hunting can attend the traditional, hands-on Hunter Education Course required along with a license to hunt in Florida and beyond. The 2-day course satisfies the legal requirements in all U.S. states and Canadian provinces. Firearms, ammunition and other materials will be provided but students should bring a pen and paper. The FWC will also be holding a Bowhunting Course for those interested, on September 15th at the same location. For this course you must bring your own bow and arrows.
