The weekend is just around the corner and this week was the start of the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Golf is one of the most popular outdoor activities not just in the state of Florida but also in Palm Beach County. The county is home to more than 160 golf courses both private and public and the area has earned the title of “Florida’s Golf Capital”.

While playing golf requires some skill, the area is also home to great miniature courses for everyone to play and enjoy the game. Registration is now open for the annual Run 4 The Sea. The run is put together by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach and this year marks the run’s 10th year since beginning. The 2021 Run 4 The Sea will be a little different this year than previously. This year the run will be completely virtual and will be able to be completed from a location of your choice.

The 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea is open to all runners, walkers, and hikers of all ages. The race benefits the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s mission which is to promote the conservation of the ocean’s ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles.

The River Center in Jupiter is open to the public on selected days of the week for tours and events. The Loxahatchee River Environmental Center or just The River Center opened in August 2008 and features a collection of freshwater and saltwater aquariums with native sea life including touch tanks.

The mission of the River Center is to foster a sense of environmental stewardship for the Loxahatchee River’s diverse watershed through quality exhibits, educational programs, and meaningful events.  The center features live aquatic tanks, interactive exhibits, and a touch tank that represent the Loxahatchee River system.

This April, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting their reoccurring Twilight Yoga at the Light event. On Monday nights, head to the lighthouse and enjoy the peace and serenity of yoga while enjoying the sunset views.

The outdoor yoga class is taught by Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck. All levels of yoga are welcomed and encouraged to attend. The class costs $10 dollars and all those who wish to participate are asked to bring their own yoga mat and water bottle. For safety, the yoga mats will be spaced out and masks are required to be worn.
