One of Palm Beach County’s popular attraction is opening this weekend for the Spring and Summer season. Rapids Water Park is opening this Saturday and is the largest waterpark in all South Florida. The water park features more than 30 acres of splash zones, pools, waterslides, and more.

The water park is spilt up into three sections, a Thrill Ride section, Family Rides, and Kid’s Zone. The Thrill ride section features some of the most daring and biggest waterslides in the park with twists, turns, and drops. The Family Rides feature six waterslides that can hold up to six family members in each. The Kid’s Zone features the lazy river, splash zones, water foundations, and more.

The Town of Jupiter has announced that their annual Jupiter U, is going virtual this year. Jupiter U is set to take place this April form the comfort of your own home.

Jupiter U will include a series of virtual tours of landmarks and areas throughout Jupiter. The tours will still highlight the important facts and aims to educate the residents about their local government and our unique town.

The virtual tours will be uploaded in April and will be available for residents to watch on demand anytime. Those who wish to watch the tours will not have to register this year but can register to receive updates. Its that time again for the 28th annual Pet Parade and Contest happening along Worth Avenue. The annual event is a local Palm Beach favorite.

This Saturday bring your beloved dog, cat, bunny, or whatever cuddly pet you have and cruise down the runway dressed in costume. All pets and all sizes are welcomed to join in on the day of fun. The event takes place in Via Amore, right off Worth Avenue. The popular event draws hundreds of spectators every year.

Registration for the Pet Parade and Costume Contest begins at 9 am and the contest will begin at 10 am. Costumes and embellishments are required for stage competition. Owners of pets will be competing for great prizes and the honor of being one of Palm Beach’s doggy divas.

On the second Saturday of every month, Hobe Sound hosts a Second Saturday Food Truck event. Head to the charming area of Hobe Sound for a day filled with great food, live music, and friendly neighbors.

The Food Truck event is being held at Broward Motorsports Treasure Coast located along SE Federal Highway. Normally the event is held along Bridge Road and SE Dixie Highway, but this month the location has changed.

Science with Sam is back at Jupiter’s River Center this week. On select days during the month, Scientist Sam is hosting an after-school program aimed for children in grades K through 5th grade.

The science activities in the program include activities such as garden exploration and many hands-on opportunities with wildlife. The event is hosted several times a month and each month has a different theme. The theme for March is Powerful Pollution and Carnivores.

The Sea Turtle Nesting Season has officially begun in South Florida. Researchers at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center have begun keeping an eye for the return of sea turtles nesting along the beaches in Northern Palm Beach County. The center has kicked off its “Respect the Locals” awareness campaign for beachgoers to be on the lookout for sea turtle nests.

Between March 1st and October 31st, sea turtle nest along the sandy 9.5 miles of beach that the Loggerhead Marinelife Center monitors. The 9.5 miles span between the northern Palm Beach County line to the northern boundary of John D. The Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter is hosting five Spring Training baseball games this week. The stadium in Downtown Abacoa is home to two professional Major League Baseball teams during Spring Training.

The Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals call Jupiter home during Spring Training. In a nearby stadium, the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros call the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches homes during their Spring Training games.

Spring Training began last Sunday, February 28th and will continue in Palm Beach County until the end of March. Fans are welcomed to attend the games being held in Jupiter this week.
