BallenIsles Charities Foundation, 100 BallenIsles Circle, Palm Beach Gardens will award grants totaling $800,000 to 46 local Palm Beach County organizations in March 2021. Since the beginning of the establishment of the BallenIsles Charities Foundation they have raised over $4.6 million.

When times looked gloomy and the pandemic raged on and people struggled, the BallenIsles community stepped up in a big way to extend a helping hand to communities nearby. In the 10 years of the BallenIsles Charities Foundation’s existence, not a year passed in which they did not host a live fundraising event, whether it be a dinner, a golf outing, or party.

The annual PGA Golf Tournament that is held at PGA National Resort and Spa is back in Palm Beach Gardens this week. Some of the world’s top golfers have joined the Player’s Field and will be playing for the playing for the next, Honda Classic winner.

For the past several years, the Honda Classic has been named the “Most Fan Friendly Event” on the PGA Tour. The award recognizes the event’s food options, amenity stations, social media engagements, affordable ticket options, parking, transportation, and more. This year is expected to do the same.

This St. Patrick’s Day follow the rainbow to the pot of gold at McCarthy’s Pub, 518 U.S. Highway One in Tequesta. Open from 2 to 10 p.m. on St. Patrick's Day, they will have food specials and live music by Billy Kamalay from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by Jimmy Gallagher from 5 p.m. to close. 

McCarthy's has been a Jupiter and Tequesta staple for over 45 years. McCarthy’s Pub has changed locations a few times, however the restaurants philosophy remains the same: to treat every guest as family, provide a welcoming meal, comforting liquid refreshment and a good time. Its that time of year again, where we change the clocks ahead one hour and look forward to spring, summer, and longer daylight. This Sunday, March 14th at 2 am is when the official Daylight Savings Time begins and lasts until November 7th.

Daylight Savings Time requires most of the country to turn their clocks ahead one hour. Former Governor Rick Scott and Florida Lawmakers signed a bill in 2018 called the Sunshine Protection Act that would make the permanent change across the country, but the bill has not taken effect yet. The bill is still waiting on congressional approval.

One of Palm Beach County’s popular attraction is opening this weekend for the Spring and Summer season. Rapids Water Park is opening this Saturday and is the largest waterpark in all South Florida. The water park features more than 30 acres of splash zones, pools, waterslides, and more.

The water park is spilt up into three sections, a Thrill Ride section, Family Rides, and Kid’s Zone. The Thrill ride section features some of the most daring and biggest waterslides in the park with twists, turns, and drops.
