Old School Square Pavilion in Delray Beach will host Martin Sexton. Old School Square is in a historic area at 51 North Swinton Avenue in Delray Beach. The 5-acre site is at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Swinton Avenue, connecting Delray's downtown shopping district. May is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. It is a celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. A rather broad term, Asian/Pacific encompasses all the Asian continent and the Pacific islands of Melanesia (New Guinea, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, and the Solomon Islands), Micronesia (Marianas, Guam, Wake Island, Palau, Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, and the Federated States of Micronesia) and Polynesia (New Zealand, Hawaiian Islands, Rotuma, Midway Islands, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, and Easter Island).  Like most commemorative months, Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month originated by an act of Congress in 1977.

The City of West Palm Beach FREE concert series is every Thursday night. If you are looking for some entertainment to add to your weekend eve evening itinerary, look no further than Clematis by Night.

This weekly event takes place at Meyer Amphitheater in downtown West Palm Beach on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  The Andrew Morris Band will be playing May 27, 2021. The Andrew Morris Band puts on an exciting show featuring some original country music.

This Summer, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is excited to bring back their popular Sea Turtle Walks event to their calendar.  On Tuesday through Saturday evenings, beginning June 1st, the center is inviting guests to join in on their Guided Sea Turtle Walks.

The center has gotten approval from the state to bring guests down to the beach and witness, observe, and learn about sea turtle nesting and the egg-laying process of sea turtles. Sea Turtle Nesting Season begins March 1st through October 31st and the beaches of Jupiter and Juno Beach are a popular nesting spot for sea turtles.  The center monitors the beaches daily for new nests.

It is always fun looking for free outdoor entertainment for the family. In the Wellington area, head on over to the Wellington Amphitheater for free outdoor concerts with tribute bands.

There is also a food truck roundup on Thursday night. Lion Country Safari is one of Palm Beach County’s Top Attractions and is Florida’s only drive-through and walk-through safari as well as an amusement park. The safari is located in Western Palm Beach County and is situated on more than 600 acres of land with over 1000 animals from six continents throughout the safari’s seven sections.

Starting this Friday, shoppers across the state of Florida can avoid certain sales tax on items in preparation with the start of the new hurricane season. Hurricane season begins in the Atlantic Ocean on June 1st and continues until November 30th. For a few short days, shoppers can save money by putting together and gathering your stockpiles to prepare in case of a storm.

South Florida has been lucky the past few years and avoided hurricanes and tropical storms but it always smart to think ahead. The 10-day sales tax holiday begins this Friday, May 28th and will continue until Sunday, June 6th. During this time, shoppers can avoid paying sales tax on these items.
