Tomorrow, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is planning on releasing another healthy sea turtle back into the ocean. The Center will release Bovenizer off Juno Beach tomorrow morning.

Bovenizer is an adult male loggerhead patient that was found in the Florida Power and Light’s intake canal in Port St. Lucie. The turtle was underweight and was brought to the center in Juno Beach in April for medications and treatments. Last week, Bovenizer was cleared to be released back into the ocean and has gained weight.

The preparations for the release will begin at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center tomorrow at 10 am. There you will learn the story of Bovenizer and the turtle’s journey and preparations for being released. A procession to the beach will follow where…

The River Center in Jupiter is teaming up with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flortilla 52” for a Boating Safety Class on Saturday, June 22nd. The boating safety classes are aimed to promote safety on the water. The classes are aimed for children and teens but all are welcomed to attend.

The class is taught by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in a lecture style class. Those who attend the class are required to take and pass the Boater Safety Exam to receive their safety card issued by the State of Florida. The State of Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conversation requires that any person who wishes to operate a vessel of more than 10 horsepower and is born after January 1, 1988 must complete and pass a boater safety class.

Tonight, in Downtown Abaoca, the monthly event of Food Trucks will be lining up for their Food Truck Invasions for a night of fun and great gourmet food.

The popular event includes rows of Food Trucks lining Town Center Drive and offer a variety of food for everyone to enjoy. Food Trucks specialize in their own different type of cuisine to stand out from the rest. Some of the food includes desserts, ice cream, burgers, tacos, chicken, and much more.

The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium mixes science with miniature golfing in their 18-hole Conservation Course. The 18-hole course has been on the Travel Channel’s list of the “13 of the Best Mini Golf Courses Across the Country”. The Conversation Course is just one of two mini golf courses in Florida to make the list, the other course is Walt Disney World’s Winter Summerland.

The mission of the Science Center is to “open every mind to science” and the Conservation Course does that by educating the guests about Florida’s natural habitats, especially the Everglades. Each golf course hole is named for the animals and plants indigenous to South Florida.
