For the past twelve years, The Honda Classic Golf Tournament has been played at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. The popular golf tournament was founded 47 years ago in 1972 and has been held in Palm Beach County since 2003. The prior location of the tournament before PGA National was Mirasol Country Club from 2003 until 2006.

The PGA National Resort and Spa has been the home of the Honda Classic since 2007. The golf club consists of five elegant and challenging courses each with a total of 18 holes. The five courses are The Champion Course, The Palmer, The Estates, The Squire, and The Fazio. Each year the golf tournament is played on The Champion Course. Every weekend in Palm Beach County from now until late spring, there are several Green Markets in our area to purchase local crafts, baked goods, homemade items, fresh flowers, and fresh produce. The markets are brought together by the local towns to support our local growers and farmers. The Green Markets occur rain or shine.

The Honda Classic is kicking off their famous golf tournament this year with a Kick Off Party this Thursday February 21st at the Gardens Mall.

Join the mall for a night of fun and to help kick off the week-long golf tournament with activities starting next Monday. The popular Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2019. The mall is launching its yearlong celebration with displays in the Grand Court that salutes the original retailers that have made the mall a destination for all who come to the area. Some of the original mall retailers include Brooks Brothers, Coach and Hamilton Jewelers.

The Gardens Mall opened its doors in 1988, with its first anchored stores Macy’s, Sears and Burdines. The Forbes Company, owns and manages the mall saw the potential of the growing area and a growing PGA Boulevard for the mall’s location.

The Honda Classic is just a few weeks away from being back in Palm Beach County and this year, attendees will get a better view of the action.

The tournament has added more than 20,000 square feet of expended hospitality spots and viewing venues. The 17th green is now closer to the water and the hole has been shortened to add more room the Bear Trap and Cobra Puma Village that surround the area. The Skysuites at the 17th have been expanded by 10,000 feet for more spectators. For the first time, the entire 17th hole will be enclosed by hospitality spots and seating.

The newly constructed and continuing to grow neighborhood in Palm Beach Gardens is set to get more shopping and dining options to their Town Center. Alton, location off of Donald Ross Road and east of Interstate 95, construction workers are busy getting everything together.

A PetSmart and a Publix have recently opened in the new area and residents are looking forward to more dining options and shops that are planning to open in the next couple of months.
