The Town of Jupiter is always looking for ways to help our town and our environment. Recently, Town officials have installed four clean up station at four local parks to help nature and the environment by reducing the amount of litter and debris.

Jupiter has partnered with the Beach Bucket Foundation as part of their 2021/2022 Strategic Plan. The mission of the Beach Bucket Foundation is the create awareness and community involvement in helping the preservation of our beaches and ocean.

On select Saturdays and Sundays, The River Center in Jupiter teams up with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” to provide Boating Safety Classes targeted for young boaters in our community. The class is aimed for young boaters, but all boaters are welcomed to join and learn more about the safety on the water.

The classes are taught in a lecture style and the classes are provided to the community through a generous sponsorship by the AustinBlu Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and promoting educational programs to enhance boater safety.

Juno Beach is home to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a research and rehabilitation center for endangered and injured sea turtles. Several times a day from March to October, the center monitors the beaches for sea turtle nests during nesting season.

The beaches of Juno Beach and Jupiter are one of the most populated sea turtle nesting spots in the world. Every year, thousands of sea turtles lay their eggs on the sand. Greens, loggerheads, and leatherback nests are most often found along the 9.5 miles of the sandy shoreline that they center monitors. Its important to note that if a sea turtle nest is found, to not disturb the nest, simply observe from a distance.

Jupiter and several other beach towns in Palm Beach County and Martin County have made the list for the 50 Best Beach Towns To Live In according to WalletHub. The survey and study was conducted in June 2020 that compared and rated beach towns across the United States.

Every beach town has its pros and cons, and the ratings were based on six categories for the study. The categories were weather, safety, affordability, education, health, and quality of life. The towns and cities ranged in population and most cities and towns on the list are in the state of California or Florida. Palm Beach County and Martin County has a few beach towns that have made the list.

The course will be held virtually this Saturday and Sunday. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation and the State of Florida requires that anyone who wishes to operate a vessel of 10 horsepower or more and is born after January 1st, 1988, must complete and pass a Boater Safety Course. Once the class is completed, the new boater will receive a Boater Safety Identification Card that can be used immediately.

The Town of Jupiter is one of the very few dog friendly beaches remaining in the state. Jupiter adopted the policy and idea to allow dogs on the beach in 1989. Today, the dog friendly beach area has been expanded and reaches over 2.5 miles of access along the sandy shoreline.

The Jupiter Dog Beach stretches from Carlin Park Beach Marker #57 south to Marcinski Road Beach Marker #25. In the designated area, dogs are permitted to roam freely, but must be supervised at all times.

Parking is free along A1A or public parking lots at Carlin Park or Marcinski Road. The Jupiter Dog Beach is open from sunrise to sunset. The Towns asks that dogs should remain on a leash from the car to the beach and owners should be conscientious of their pets and others while…

The Sea Turtle Nesting Season has officially begun in South Florida. Researchers at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center have begun keeping an eye for the return of sea turtles nesting along the beaches in Northern Palm Beach County. The center has kicked off its “Respect the Locals” awareness campaign for beachgoers to be on the lookout for sea turtle nests.

Between March 1st and October 31st, sea turtle nest along the sandy 9.5 miles of beach that the Loggerhead Marinelife Center monitors. The 9.5 miles span between the northern Palm Beach County line to the northern boundary of John D. Every Saturday morning, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts their weekly Self-Guided Beach Clean Ip for those wanting to help keep our beaches and oceans clean. All are welcomed and encouraged to help in the effort. 

Those that wish to participate are asked to stop by the back deck of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center before they begin. The supplies will be available at the Marine Debris Sorting Station.  Once supplies are picked up, volunteers can make their way down to the beach and begin. 

Once finished, simply bring your supplies and trash bags back to the Sorting Station at the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center and pick up a free t-shirt as a Thank You gift for helping to keep our beaches clean.

The Stuart Boat Show will be making its way to South Florida this weekend. The Stuart Boat Show is the largest boat show on the Treasure Coast. The annual boat show has been named as one of the “Top 20 Events” in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society last year. 

The Stuart Boat Show features more than 175 local, national, and international exhibitors displaying hundreds of boats in the water and on land, as well as marine and boating accessories. Some of the boats displayed during this weekend’s show include motor yachts, center consoles, speedboats, sport fishing boats, pontoon boats, cruisers and much more.
