Wednesday evenings, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum hosts their popular Lighthouse Sunset Tour.  Climb the 105 steps to the top of the lighthouse to take in the incredible views and sunset. Visitors will also get an inside look at the Lighthouse Watchroom and even get a chance to see the light turn on and illuminate the sky. Let us recall with the epic celestial meeting of Jupiter and Saturn for the great conjunction, and a once-in-a-lifetime comet, 2020 was a big year for celestial phenomena. NASA calls one of the “best annual meteor showers,” will peak from January 2 into January 3,. According to the International Meteor Organization the peak of the Quadrantid meteor shower should be visible in our area night sky this weekend.

With visitors still in town for the holidays, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their popular events this week to end the year. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is dedicated to helping protect the ocean, marine life and injured and endangered sea turtles through their rehabilitation center and research programs.

Public Guided Tours are offered twice a day at 12 pm and then again at 2 pm. Those who attend will get an up-close look at the outdoor sea turtle hospital and get to see the sea turtles housed at the center. Twilight Yoga at the Light

Tonight, Monday December 28th, head to the lighthouse and experience the peace and serenity of Yoga with instructor Mary Veal. The Yoga class takes place outdoors on the Lighthouse Deck at sunset every Monday night. All levels of Yoga are welcomed to attend. The class is $10 dollars per person and registration is required due to limited space. Participants must bring their own Yoga mat, and a water bottle. The class begins at 6 pm.

Every Sunday during the month of December, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their reoccurring Hammock Hike. The Hammock Hike consists of an entirely outdoor excursion into the coastal hammock habitat near the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.

The program will cover and discuss the importance of these coastal ecosystems, explain and identify plants and animals, and the hike will end with an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. The hike is led by on of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s experienced biologists.

All ages are welcomed to attend the Hammock Hike. The event is an outdoor walking excursion and lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Every month, Downtown Abacoa hosts their Food Truck Invasion along Town Center Drive in Jupiter. Come out and taste some of the best food from some of the best Food Trucks in South Florida.

The event happens on the second Friday of every month and rows of food trucks line the streets selling their most popular dishes.  The food trucks offer everything from pastries, Mexican food, seafood, burgers, pizza, ice cream, specialty dishes, and much more.

The Food Truck Invasion is free to attend with food and beverage purchases and there will be a DJ performing at the Abacoa Amphitheater. Bring your own chairs, blankets and even tables to sit out and enjoy the music and food.

Saturday Events at Harbourside Place

Pontiki Family and Friends Cruise: Gather all your friends and family and board the Pontiki boat docked at Harbourside for morning cruise along the intracoastal. The boat leaves every Saturday at 10am and returns at 12:30 pm. Reservations are recommended, and all are welcomed.

Kids Outdoor Yoga Class: The outdoor yoga class is final class as part of an eight-week class for kids hosted by Baseball Yogis. The class takes place along the water at the Waterfront Amphitheater on Saturday morning at 10:15 am. The class is recommended for children ages 4 to 11.

The Town of Jupiter is once again releasing a Winter Activity Box for kids and families to bring the holiday spirit to everyone’s homes. The town’s recreation staff are working hard on filling up this Winter Activity box with crafts, treats, art projects, cooking projects, and an activity booklet to match the winter theme.

Boxes can be purchased online or at the Jupiter Community Center. The Winter Activity Boxes will be on sale starting Monday, December 7th and can be picked up at the Community Center during normal business hours. Be sure to grab your Winter Activity box early before they sell out for the season.
