The Town of Jupiter and the Jupiter Police Department are preparing for their annual National Night Out event and parade tonight. The event is aimed to bring awareness to crime and drug abuse prevention, generate support and participation in local crime efforts, and to support our local police, fire fighters and emergency workers.

Gather your friends and family and head out to see over 30 police vehicles, fire trucks, and more take part in the parade around town beginning at 6 pm tonight. Vehicles during the parade will be giving away goodies and treats along the parade route.

Dessert foodies can rejoice! Proper Ice Cream Shop, a gourmet ice cream concept, has just opened a location in Boca Raton. Proper can be found at the park Place Plaza. The ice cream shop offers flavors such as Sicilian pistachio with caramelized figs, blood orange sorbet, key lime pie tart, fresh pear gelato with burnt sugar and many more.

As many artisan crafts begin, proper ice cream started in the home kitchen of owner Rick Felberbaum.  After making several trips to Italy and other “big foodie” capitals such as New York, San Francisco and Chicago left him missing such incredible textures and flavors. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center announced recently that they will continue their partnership with the Palm Beach fashion icon and line, Lilly Pulitzer for their weekly Beach Clean-Ups on Juno Beach. With the summer coming to an end for students in Palm Beach County and Martin County, the state of Florida is having their Back to School Sales Tax Holiday again this year.

Beginning this Saturday, July 31st through Monday, August 9th, shoppers will be exempt from sales tax in the state of Florida for certain school supplies and items. The Back to School Sales Tax exemption will be automatically deducted at checkout when purchasing qualifying items.

There is a new place enhancing the Delray Beach culinary scene. Warren American Whisky,  is an “American whiskey kitchen” within a 6,000 square-foot space, with both interior and outdoor spaces.  The restaurant features wood flooring, dim lighting, and rich leathers and velvets.
