One of the most well-known snorkel sites in The Palm Beaches can be found under Blue Heron Bridge on Singer Island. The Blue Heron Bridge connects Signer Island to the mainland. On the small island under the bridge in the Lake Worth Lagoon, there is a 15-acre beach park. Phil Foster Park is a life-guarded beach, fishing area, and playground. With easy access from a sandy beach averaging depth of 6-10 feet. It is a picture-perfect place for shore snorkeling and shallow-water diving with its clear waters and abundant sea life. The Blue Heron Bridge snorkeling trail is about 800 ft long and runs about 200 ft offshore.

One hour south of Palm Beach County is a  dazzling outdoor display for the entire family to delight in!  Haulover Park is hosting Kitetober Festival including large flying whales. Haulover Park in is located at 10800 Collins Avenue, in Miami Beach.

The Kite Festival is 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. October 22 and 23, 2022, and entry is free. Kites representing different nationalities are encouraged. Food and kites are available for purchase at the event.

The September 11 attacks, were four coordinated suicide terrorist attacks carried out by the militant Islamic extremist network al-Qaeda against the United States. On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners. The hijackers crashed the first two planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, and the third plane into the Pentagon. The fourth plane was intended to hit a federal government building but crashed in a field following a passenger revolt. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people and instigated the global war on terror.

South Florida is a diving magnet with luscious reefs with natural and fabricated beauty under the surface. Did you happen to know that over the past 20 years, Broward County’s Artificial Reef Program has situated over seventy-five synthetic reefs on the ocean floor? One mile off the coast of Deerfield Beach is a reef known as Rapa Nui Reef. It weighs about three hundred tons and is half the length of a football field. The Rapa Nui Reef distinguishes the city in the way 887 similar monuments did Easter Island in the remote South Pacific.

The reef is the combination of a public art project of the “Moai” figures that were created in Stuart along with fabricated reef materials. The reef is called Rapa Nui, the Polynesian translation of “Easter Island.”…
