Pablo Picasso is arguably one of the most recognized artists of our times.  Picasso had two wives and many mistresses.  He loved women. He was notorious for always having a beautiful woman with him.  Behind every artist, there is a muse.

These “muses” greatly inspired his work. His wives, mistresses and various liaisons inspired his artwork.  The women inspired him to create one of the largest bodies of art in history.

The Norton Museum of Art, 1451 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach is “celebrating the women who inspired the master artist.”  Jerry Dobrick, museum curator associate for the Norton, describes “Picasso’s Muses” as a small, but poignant exhibit.  The exhibit includes six powerful depictions of Picasso’s lovers during various periods…

Manatee season is in full effect in South Florida.  This campaign is called “Operation Mermaid”.  During this period, a tremendous percentage of manatees swim to South Florida for the warmer waters.

Manatees are large, herbivorous marine mammals also known as sea cows.  Their bodies taper to a flat, paddle like tail.  They have two forelimbs, called flippers, with three to four nails on each flipper.  Their head and face are furrowed with whiskers on the snout.

The manatee needs warmth when surrounding water temperatures drop below 68 degrees.  The Florida manatee lives in brackish, salt and fresh water coastal areas around Florida, such as Stuart, Jupiter, Delray and Boca Raton.  The plant eating mammal surfaces every three to five minutes to…
