The Gardens Mall is partnering up with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to host The Third Annual CANstruction Sculpture Competition to eliminate deprivation and starvation in Palm Beach County.

Based on this year’s theme, “CANnes International Film Festival” the crews that are partaking and challenging in this competition are indigenous contractors, builders and architects that are collecting canned and packaged food items to form gargantuan art monuments in the Garden’s Mall courtyard. Winners of the most intriguing display will be pronounced and broadcasted on June 18th at the CANstruction cocktail party. The Center is going to have a free health fair at 5:30 p.m. in the stadium concourse: “Walk the Bases to Good Health" giving free screenings by Jupiter Medical Center and Nicklaus Children's Hospital Palm Beach Gardens Outpatient Center such as blood pressure, DEXA Heel scans for osteoporosis, body mass index and health risk assessments.

Tomorrow at the Jupiter Pointe Marina, in Tequesta, Florida is the Lionfish Roundup. This fun event is a unique way to help our local ocean ecosystems manage the over growth of the invasive Lionfish. Diving will begin tomorrow at 7 in the morning.

The Lionfish is a beautiful fish but unfortunately it is an invasive species in our Floridian waters. The lionfish are incredibly destructive to our reef environments as they have no natural predators and plenty of food, thus their rapid population growth.
