A very special and very colorful art installation is making its way to the Waterfront in Downtown West Palm Beach. “The Pool” by artist Jen Lewin is a gorgeous, interactive art installation that has made its way around the nation and will now be right here in sunny, South Florida for a few months. West Palm Beach Waterfront is calling the summer activity “A Summer in Paradise.”

The Pool is comprised of glowing, concentric circles that are supposed to be stepped on. Lewin’s idea is for people to come and play on the installation, which will change colors as you step on the different circles. That way everyone can make their own art depending on how you step on them. It is an ever evolving art piece.

“A Summer in Paradise” is also offering other unique…

Tomorrow at the Jupiter Pointe Marina, in Tequesta, Florida is the Lionfish Roundup. This fun event is a unique way to help our local ocean ecosystems manage the over growth of the invasive Lionfish. Diving will begin tomorrow at 7 in the morning.

The Lionfish is a beautiful fish but unfortunately it is an invasive species in our Floridian waters. The lionfish are incredibly destructive to our reef environments as they have no natural predators and plenty of food, thus their rapid population growth. The lionfish eat tiny shrimp which is the main diet of our native reef fish including juvenile grouper, snook, mullet, snapper and many other species. Since, the lionfish have no natural predators here and are destroying our native populations it is up to our…

Last week, realtors from across the nation attended or virtually attended a conference held by the REALTOR® University Richard J. As a group, humans tend to be fascinated with the idea of the future. Our imaginations offer plenty of room for ideas about where and how people will live in the future. With the world population growing at an exponential rate, these predictions have come to fruition in some cases. Some of these new housing trends are being seen in the U.S. and others are in countries with more extreme “rapid urbanization.”

Here are 5 examples of housing of the future:

  1. TINY HOUSES- This movement has entered the “mainstream” category as you can find documentaries on Netflix, TV shows and more about something called “tiny houses.” These are homes built with very sensible and efficient space planning, usually spanning only 500 square feet. They have reduced…

It is a little rainy today but if local south Floridians are lucky and the clouds cooperate we will be able to observe a beautiful meteor shower tonight. The Eta Aquarid meteor shower will peak before dawn on Wednesday morning. Experts are also predicting that the meteors will be visible Thursday morning as well.

You will be able to see ten to twenty meteors per hour under the dark Floridian skies. However, it might be slightly less because the moon just hit its full phase on Monday.

Experts at EarthSky.org give this tip,  “Want to watch in moonlight? Do it. You’ll likely see some bright meteors that shine through the moon’s glare.” The 2015 Eta Aquarid meteor shower will be best seen Wednesday, May 6, from 3 am to dawn. This shower “favors” the…
