During the summer, from July 1 through August 1, at the Sandoway House in Delray Beach is Shark Month. The Sandoway House Nature Center is located in a historic 1936 beachfront home in Delray Beach, Florida.

There are a number of different exhibits including a coral reef tank, daily feedings, shark exhibits and reptile exhibits. At Sandoway House there is something for everyone.
It is a summer of sharks at the Sandoway House. Experience shark months from July-September. See more than 80 species of shark and ray jaws.

Live shark feedings Tuesday-Saturday at 10:30am; Sunday at 1:30pm.

July 10th and 11th Harbourside Place in Jupiter will host a Lionfish Derby to benefit the Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation. The foundation is named after Andrew Harris, a 26 year old man who passed away last year in a boating accident.

The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation raises money to build artificial reefs to enhance the local marine environment. The foundation is building forty unique, 6 by 8 foot free form concrete modules which will be set off the coast of Jupiter in August of this year.

The derby will begin first thing in the morning, at sunrise, and will continue through the day until 4:00pm. The contestants must be in with all of their catches by 4:00pm to be scored by the judges.

You can get an up close and personal encounter with thousands of turtles every Wednesday through Saturday in June and July right here in Palm Beach County. These guided turtle walks allow visitors to learn about and observe the nesting and egg laying process of sea turtles.

Taking place over the next several, summer weeks at Standing Ovation Performing Arts Studio is a special art class just for kids. Every Monday beginning today and continuing on for 6 weeks is a water color and ink class.

Children can embrace their creativity and playfulness through the artistic expressions.  These educational classes will help young artists learn techniques in water color and ink line drawings.
