Join the River Center to Celebrate Earth Day and participate in the Great American Clean Up this Saturday, April 27th. Every month the Friends of Jupiter Beach have been organizing beach clean ups on the first Saturday of every month since 1994 and this month the cleanups are focused on our public areas.

This Saturday the Clean Up is part of the Great American Cleanup. The cleanup is a few hours long and the clean up includes a massive removal of litter and illegal dumping in our public areas, roadways, beaches, parks, neighborhoods and schools. The cleanups demonstrate our responsibility to make an effort to make Palm Beach County beautiful and clean.

This Sunday, April 28th, the Annual Sweet Corn Fiesta is back at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach.

The sweet corn is grown locally in the famous black soil of the Glades region right here in Palm Beach County. The all-day celebration features a collection of harvest events, live music by the Krystal River Band, a ton of food and drinks, kids and family activities, rides, games, Corn Eating Completions, a ton of corn and much more.

The festival celebrates the sweet corn growing season and all that make it possible and is an event of the Western Palm Beach County Farm Bureau.
The gates open at 11 am to 5 pm this Sunday. The Corn Eating Contests start at 1 pm for both adults and children and the big contest beginning at 3 pm.

Several times a year, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts their Paint N Drink parties. The Paint with a Purpose events benefit the ocean conservation and sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.

Paint N Drink is a mobile painting party planner that aims to bring fun and entertainment to everyone, no artistic experience is required to participate.

All are welcomed to attend and the class costs $25 dollars plus tax, per person. The cost of the class covers all of the supplies needed and the instructions of what will be painted. On Friday, the work of art will be creating painted wine glasses or draft glasses. The artwork to be painted is a sunset piece, and feel free to create your own sunset design on the glass.

Mark your calendars for the 3rd Saturday Gourmet Food Truck Invasion in downtown Hobe Sound this Saturday, April 20th.

The food trucks will be lined up on Se Dixie Highway between Se Mars and Se Apollo Streets. Come for a night of family fun, great food and a change to mingle with your neighbors.

During the large block party, local shops and vendors stay open later for shopping. The block party brings live music by DJ Jef, and some of the best gourmet food trucks in the area. This Saturday is the last Green Market in downtown West Palm Beach until the fall. Since October, the waterfront of West Palm Beach hosted their weekly Green Market every Saturday for the past 24 years.

The Green Market has been the ideal place to gather fresh foods and local goods from more than 90 vendors and this Saturday, April 20th is the last Green Market until October 6th. The local vendors offer a variety of special foods, fresh local produce, plants, herbs, spices, gourmet foods, baked goods, home made crafts, artwork and much more.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting two Lighthouse tours this week. This Wednesday, April 17th, the lighthouse is hosting their reoccurring Lighthouse Sunset Tour and on Friday, April 19th the lighthouse is hosting their Lighthouse Moonrise Tour.

Climb to the top of the lighthouse this Wednesday night and take in the spectacular view of Jupiter, the ocean and the incredible Florida sunset. The Town of Jupiter is hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20th at the Jupiter Community Park softball fields. Join in on the fun of hunting and collecting as many Easter eggs as you can.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” and The Loxahatchee River Center in Jupiter get together a few times a year to provide boating safety courses. The classes are aimed for young boaters, but all are welcomed to attend who wish to learn more about boating and water safety.

The classes are provided by the AustinBlu Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and promote educational programs and water safety.

The class is free, however there is a $10-dollar deposit required to hold and reserve a spot. The deposit will be returned in full at the end of the class.
