Things to Do in Jupiter Farms

Living in Jupiter Farms affords residents a variety of activities to enjoy either in the comfort of their own property or any of the surrounding venues. One of the greatest appeals is the space and freedom provided by your own yard. Many use the space for their horses, cows, and other livestock. Some people raise chickens, grow fruits and vegetables, or use the space to house everything from trampolines and basketball courts to ATVs, boats, and RVs.

1. Visit Riverbend Park

Riverbend Park in Jupiter Farms is the perfect place to enjoy South Florida’s natural landscape and history. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, and even horseback riding. Nearly 10 miles of trails for pedestrians and cyclists wind through marshes, swamps, and forests that contain a variety of native flora and fauna, making this a popular stop for photographers. Along these trails, guests can soak up the history of the area at the Cracker Farmstead, Citrus Groves, and Old River Run then picnic in the shade under a Seminole chickee. Rent a canoe or kayak at the Jupiter Outdoor Center and explore the 5 miles of waterways, or Jupiter Farms residents can bring their horses and enjoy the 7 miles of equestrian trails.

2. Visit Cypress Creek Natural Area

Much like Riverbend Park, Cypress Creek Natural Area is where the natural beauty and history of Florida merge. The 2,000-plus acres of wet prairie, depression marsh, dome swamp, hydric hammock, mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, and blackwater stream are home to more than 217 species of animals and 500 species of plants. The area is split into two sections. The northern section houses two multi-use trails (for cyclists and hikers), an equestrian trail, 2 acres of restored wetlands as well as multiple covered observation decks to watch alligators, turtles, and birds in their natural habitat. The Southern section also offers hiking trails along with a fishing pier, an observation tower, and a kayak/canoe launch. Along the trails, are various historical sites including a segment of the historic Jupiter-Indiantown Road, an area of the Loxahatchee River Battle, as well as bits of the early 1900s Rood settlement.

3. Go to the Beach

One of the best things about Jupiter Farms is that residents don’t have to choose between having the space of a rural community and having access to the fishing, boating, and other water activities that South Florida is known for. In The Farms, you can have your property (with room for your boat) close to boat launches and beaches like Jupiter's Off-Leash Dog Beach, Jupiter Beach Park, and Carlin Park, all just a short drive away.
