The Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta is opening its world class art programs with an innovative approach.

 The new program introduced is for children ages 6 through 12. Children can join in on their “Super Summer” program and they will receive an ArtCamp in each box every week available by curbside pickup at the center or by mail.

The “Super Summer” art camp combines independent exploration and three optional interactive and zoom led classes with the help of the community. Each week, the box will contain the supplies needed to create your own characters and pieces. Virtual shows will be on Friday’s to show and explain their work.

The local art center and gallery in Tequesta is temporarily closed its doors but organizers and the center’s staff is now offering a variety of online virtual art classes for you to enjoy. 

The Lighthouse Art Center Gallery and School of Art is offering online classes including ceramics, drawing, jewelry, painting, sculpture and photography. The classes vary in price and the proceeds are used to pay the instructors that help to continue the organization’s mission of connecting the community to art. 

The classes will begin online next week and registration is now open for the live stream classes.  Classes will run from April 23rd to May 23rd. To register and sign up, click here to visit their website.

Located between Hobe Sound and Tequesta is the Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The State Park is home to 16 distinct natural communities that make up the park. 

The 10,500-acre park was named after Jonathan Dickinson, a Quaker merchant who became shipwrecked off the coast nearby in 1696.  The grounds in World War II were used as a secret training school and camp called Camp Murphy with over 6,600 men. Following the war the land became now known as Jonathan Dickinson State Park in 1950.

Head to Constitution Park in Tequesta on the first Friday every month for their reoccurring Food Truck Pow Wow event.

The giant outdoor picnic is a great way to mix and mingle with your neighbors and friends and enjoy delicious food from local and regional food trucks and fun activities. The Food Trucks will be lined up in Constitution Park this Friday night from 5 pm to 9 pm.

The night will also include live music and entertainment to help kick off the weekend. For the event nearby Dover Road will be closed for the Food Truck Pow Wow.

On the first Friday of every month, the Village of Tequesta hosts their reoccurring Food Truck Pow Wow at Constitution Park.

Two restaurants in Palm Beach County have made the list of the “Top 100 Restaurants in America” List for 2019. Palm Beach County was the only county in Florida to have two restaurants make the list.

OpenTable, the online reservation making, and review website conducted a survey which included 27 states. The newly released list includes Palm Beach Island’s Buccan and Krave located in Tequesta. The two local favorites are among 7 restaurants in Florida that have made the list.

Head to Jupiter or Tequesta for the 43rd Annual JTAA Jupiter Tequesta Christmas Parade. The holiday parade is rolling into town on Sunday, December 8th.

The annual parade is hosted by the JTAA Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association. Every year the holiday parade is a certain theme and this year the theme is “A Cartoon Christmas”. The parade will be led by this year’s Grand Marshall Edna Runner. Edna is the Executive Director of the Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children by promoting education.

The annual Tequesta Fest is back again for another year and will be at Paradise Park on Saturday, November 30th.

The Tequesta Fest celebrates the Village of Tequesta and its residents with entertainment for all ages. The event will include Carnival Thrills rides, Super Slides, a Wagon Coaster, Train Ride, Games with prizes, food vendors and much more.

The Tequesta Fest is free and invites all Village of Tequesta residents. Head to Tequesta this Saturday afternoon for the 9th Annual Tequesta Chili Cookoff. The event is hosted by the Tequesta Fire and Rescue team.

The Chili Cookoff helps raise money to help our nation’s veterans for four great charities, the SE Honor Flight, Operation 300, Renewal Coalition and Friends of Public Safety.

The event is for those ages 21 and older and includes an all-inclusive beer tasting event by the Tequesta Brewing Company and the ultimate chili cookoff. Come and taste more than 25 different chili recipes from the competing fire rescue teams. Music will be provided by 56 Ace Band with performances by the Black Pearl Pipes and Drums. Head to Tequesta tonight for this year’s Tequesta National Night Out. The night of fun will feature live music, bounce houses, family-friendly demonstrations from the Tequesta Police Department’s K-9, emergency response exhibits and much more.

National Night Out is a community event to bring together and form a relationship with the community and police department. Tequesta’s National Night Out is taking place tonight at Constitution Park on Seabrook Road. The event starts at 5 pm to 9 pm.

In addition to the National Night Out, Constitution Park is also hosting their Friday Night Food Truck Pow Wow and a concert from 5 pm to 9 pm.
