April Fool’s Day celebrated on April 1st each year has been celebrated for centuries by different cultures and countries, through its exact origin of the day remains a mystery.  The day consists of playing practical jokes and pranks on each other and yelling “April Fools” at the end. The day is not an official holiday except in Odessa in Ukraine, where April Fool’s Day is an official city holiday.

Many believe the day began on April 1st 1700, when English pranksters began the tradition by playing practical jokes on each other. Some historians date the tradition back even further to 1582 but the officially date is unknown.

The official start of Spring is this Saturday, March 21st.  The Spring Equinox occurs this Saturday and the event marks the astronomical first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. The weather is expected to be in the upper 70’s in northern Palm Beach County this weekend. A Perfect weekend to enjoy the outdoors and celebrate the new Spring season.

Its that time of year again, where we change the clocks ahead one hour and look forward to spring, summer, and longer daylight. This Sunday, March 14th at 2 am is when the official Daylight Savings Time begins and lasts until November 7th.

Daylight Savings Time requires most of the country to turn their clocks ahead one hour. Former Governor Rick Scott and Florida Lawmakers signed a bill in 2018 called the Sunshine Protection Act that would make the permanent change across the country, but the bill has not taken effect yet. The bill is still waiting on congressional approval.

One of Palm Beach County’s popular attraction is opening this weekend for the Spring and Summer season. Rapids Water Park is opening this Saturday and is the largest waterpark in all South Florida. The water park features more than 30 acres of splash zones, pools, waterslides, and more.

The water park is spilt up into three sections, a Thrill Ride section, Family Rides, and Kid’s Zone. The Thrill ride section features some of the most daring and biggest waterslides in the park with twists, turns, and drops.
