The Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a program on Tuesday’s aimed for those who want to learn more about science and sea turtles.

The program is called Science for Seniors and is for those 55 years old and older to attend. The program includes Dr. Paul Brown and covers everything from biology and human health to the sea turtle’s biology and health.

The lectures are 1 hour long and those who attend all four sessions will receive a free graduation gift and a tour around the sea turtle rehabilitation center and hospital.

The cost to attend is free and the programs run from January until April. The next Science for Seniors is this Tuesday at 2 pm. Registration is required to reserve your spot, space is limited.

Due to the popularity of the event, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center has announced three more dates for their Sea Turtle Sleepover for children in the next couple of months.

The Sea Turtle Sleepover is an exclusive event aimed for children between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. During the sleepover the night time program will feature a tour of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s outdoor Sea Turtle hospital, children’s activities, scavenger hunt, chances to meet the sea turtle patients, an ocean themed movie and the ultimate slumber party. Children are allowed to bring their own snacks and drinks, the center just asks that they are brought in a reusable container.

The fun sleepover begins at 7 pm and children can be picked up at 8 am the next morning.…

Guests who visit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach can support sea turtles through their ‘Adopt a Sea Turtle’ program. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a non-profit sea turtle research, rehabilitation and sea turtle hospital whose mission is aimed to protect the ocean ecosystems and all Marinelife. Loggerhead provides care and treatment for injured and endangered sea turtles before being released back into the ocean.

The ‘Adopt a Sea Turtle’ program costs $35 dollars for the basic adoption package to adopt and your money goes to benefit the center for research and continued care for the injured and sick sea turtles. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is hosting their weekly Hammock Hike this Friday, March 8th.

The Hammock Hike is led by an experienced Naturalist and the beach walks and hammock hikes are an excursion through some of South Florida’s natural habits. The hikes navigate through the coastal hammock and the natural dune systems. Along the way, you’ll learn about all the birds and trees along the journey through the sand on the beach.

The Hammock Hikes are in partnership with the Palm Beach County ERM Natural Area division. The hike is free to attend. Click here to register.

The Sea Turtle Nesting Season officially began last week, and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is hoping for another record-breaking season. The season is March 1st through October 31st and the 9.5 miles of the beaches along Juno Beach are monitored daily. Juno Beach and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center support nearly 5 percent of the world’s loggerhead sea turtles.

Along the sandy shoreline in northern Palm Beach County, thousands of sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand. The sea turtle nests usually contain about 100 eggs each that requires 45 and 60 days to hatch. Because of this, Juno Beach is one of the most populated sea turtle nesting areas in the world. The Sea Turtle rehabilitation and research hospital in Juno Beach hosts many activities throughout the week and weekend. This Sunday the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting four family friendly events for you to check out.

Turtle Talk: is an interactive program geared to visitors 8 years old and older. The Turtle Talks feature a lecture style program designed to educate visitors about sea turtle biology, ecology, and conservation followed by a tour. The presentation will be 20 minutes long followed by two 5-minute discussions about the sea turtle rescues and rehabilitation. The program last about 30 minutes and run every Sunday until April. This Wednesday, February 27th the Downtown at the Gardens is hosting their monthly Kids Crawl.

Families are invited to attend and enjoy a fun-fill afternoon filled with activities for children and families, free carousel rides, arts and crafts, games, retailer promotions, and much more. Every month there is a different theme with plenty of new surprises and fun.

This month the theme for the Kids Crawl is sea-themed with the help of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a sea turtle research and rehabilitation center located in Juno Beach.

The event starts at 11 am this Wednesday and last until about 1 pm in the Carousel Court of the Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens.

Join the Loggerhead Marinelife Center this Friday night for their special Astronomy Night series. Due to the popularity, the research and rehabilitation center has added this event to their calendar every month.

Astronomy Night is based on the activity in the nights sky. During the night you’ll get a chance to learn about the planets and the stars. The series will also include information about the sky’s glow and touch lightly on pollution. The main goal of the night is to promote and increase the awareness of our impact on the environment.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is preparing to release another sea turtle, named Aquaman back into the ocean this Thursday, February 21st.

Aquaman is a large juvenile green sea turtle that was found in the Lake Worth Lagoon in North Palm Beach in January 2018. The sea turtle arrived at the research and rehabilitation center with a fishing line entangled around its left front flipper. The Center carefully removed the line and the wound was treated with a therapeutic laser and some honey. The sea turtle also received antibiotics and was monitored closely throughout the last year.

Every day of the week, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts Public Daily Tours of their Sea Turtle Facility. Visitors will get an up-close opportunity to see the sea turtles and fish houses in the research and rehabilitation center.

The Marinelife Center’s tours are open to the public and all are welcomed to attend to see how the center operates. The tours last approximately an hour and are led by the educational experts and the staff of the center to answers all of your questions.

The tours cost $10 for adults and $5 dollars for children under 8 years old. Those who wish to attend can register online or at the Guest Service Desk in the main lobby. The tours are limited to 15 people per tour due to the amount of space.
