Space X is expected to launch today from the Space Coast. Space X is set to launch a Falcoln 9 rocket on Thursday, September 17th at 2:17 pm from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The Space X launch will be the 13th batch of Starlink Communication satellites atop its Falcon 9 rocket. Upon success of this mission, Space X will have close to 800 Starlink Communication satellites in the low-Earth orbit. This is a significant step as the aerospace company aims to begin public beta testing in North America for internet constellation later this year.

This summer, the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is hosting a virtual summer camp for kids interested in nature and science.

The summer camp consists of five sessions once a week and campers will get a chance to create activities through their interactive camp sessions. The campers must have access to a computer of mobile device and most of the activities will take place outside in your own backyard.

The sessions include topics such as conservation, cool science facts, and South Florida’s eco-system. Those who register for the virtual camp will receive a camp box filled with supplies for crafts, exploration, and activities.

The camp dates will be based on grade level each child will be entering in the fall.

Many South Florida’s popular attractions are being to reopen to the public in the upcoming days, one of them being the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium which is set to reopen next week after months of being closed.

The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is opening this weekend, just in time for Memorial Day. Memorial Day is this upcoming Monday, May 25th.

The Science Center and Aquarium will open their doors Friday, May 22nd, 23rd and 24th for members only and the all guests are welcomed starting Monday, May 25th. Existing members of the Science Center will receive a 3-month extension on their membership to make up for lost time.

This weekend, The South Florida Science Center invites your family to SPEND THE NIGHT! Not only can you sleepover at the science museum, but you'll get to explore the "Hall of Heroes" exhibit - an exhibit full of interactive activities to test your superhero powers. Activities include an obstacle course, a scavenger hunt, and superhero crafts alongside real superheroes in the flesh like Hulk, Ironman, and Superman!

Cost includes pizza for dinner, continental breakfast, and all activities. Participants supply their own sleeping bag, pillow, and hygiene materials.

On the last Friday of each month, the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium allows visitors and guests to attend their popular Nights At The Museum event.

The fun filled night is for the whole family and includes extended hours to explore and wonder through the Science Center and Aquarium. Each month is a different theme and since Halloween is at the end of the month, this Friday’s theme is Spooky Science.

The night will include a Liquid Nitrogen Live Science Show, haunted miniature golf and trail, Superhero and Villain Trivia, Dry Ice Boo Bubbles, Oozing Pumpkin demonstrations, challenges, crafts, entertainment, exhibits, and much more. On the last Friday of the month, the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium hosts their reoccurring Night at the Museum event.

The popular event welcomes guests of all ages to come and enjoy the Science Center and Aquarium after hours. Every month the theme is different and this month the theme is Superhero Science. Superhero Science will feature live interactives with Superheroes, explore the new exhibit Hall of Heroes, arts and crafts, live demonstrations, face painting, shows, entertainment and much more. You are allowed to dress up as your favorite Superhero for the night.

The South Florida Science Center and Florida Atlantic University’s Brain Institute have just opened the world’s most advanced neuroscience exhibit. The exhibit will inspire a new generation of technologists, scientists and medical professionals.

The exhibit is called Journey Through The Human Brain and features the latest high-tech displays, state of the art equipment, innovations and immersive experiences and installations. The exhibit is a 2,500 square foot permanent exhibition located in the West Wing of the Science Center. The development has been in progress for the past 3 years and the exhibit is now open to the public.

The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is hosting their new summer exhibit, Rainforest Adventure. The rainforests are one of Earth’s least known habitats and the rainforests are filled with mysteries, sounds, and creatures waiting to be discovered.

Those who attend, travel through a giant indoor maze with interactive experiences, treasures and secrets of the rainforest. By the time you are finished traveling through the maze you’ll have a better understanding of how humans impact the rainforests and how you can help to make a difference.
