Kayaking the Loxahatchee River is one of the best ways to see what Old Florida may have been like up close.  Kayaking provides a rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of endangered, threatened, and unique animals, such as the bald eagle. It can take five hours or more to make the eight-mile trip from Riverbend Park in Jupiter to Jonathan Dickinson State Park, the largest state park in southeast Florida. Join other Royal Palm Beach residents, their families and friends at the Gourmet Food Truck Expo and Movie Night in the Park. Royal Palm Beach’s free weekly events return with new COVID-19 protocols in place, including enforced social distancing and a mask requirement. The event is 5:00pm to 9:00pm Friday, February 5, 2021 at Commons Park.  Gourmet food trucks will be on-site with a variety of food and drinks, and the movie “Gemini Man” will be played for Movie Night.

The Town of Jupiter and Palm Beach County have issued an update regarding beaches and beach parks. Effective Monday, May 18, 2020 all public, private, and municipal beaches and beach parks in Palm Beach County will conditionally re-open after being closed for nearly two months due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.  

Beachgoers will be allowed to sunbathe, and concession stands for beach chairs and umbrellas, along with food and beverage stands, will be allowed to operate.The beaches and beach parks will open to the public under the following conditions and restrictions:

• Beaches will be open between sunrise and sunset only.

• Parties accessing the beaches shall follow CDC guidelines by limiting gatherings to no more than 10…

As the Downtown West Palm Beach landscape continues to evolve, so do the features that accompany it. That can be seen in the new CityZen Garden that opened this past week outside the Broadstone Apartments.

A collaboration between Sherryl Muriente, her husband Beju, and Finnish artist Marco Casagrande, the new area features a small outdoor amphitheater, a zen garden and several statues. The space was designed as part of the West Palm Beach Art in Public Places program. The program requires developers to either donate to a public art fund or build public art on their site. As a result, the trio worked with the Alliance Residential Company who developed the Broadstone Apartments.
