Head to Hobe Sound this weekend for the 19th Annual Hobe Sound Festival of the Arts. The annual 2-day event is produced by Howard Alan Events in cooperation with the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce.

For the past 19 years, thousands of visitors and locals head to SE Dixie Highway on the first weekend of February for the Festival of the Arts. The festival includes over 100 highly skilled artist display their works for purchase.

The Festival of the Arts will also include business booths, food vendors and a Green Market filled with locally baked goods, homemade crafts, fresh produce and much more.

The Festival is free to attend with vendor purchases.

Join The Nature Conservatory in Florida staff this weekend at Blowing Rocks Preserve for a Shoreline Cleanup and do your part to help keep our beautiful sandy beaches clean. The Shoreline Cleanup’s are on the last Sunday of every month.

The Shoreline Cleanup will be guided by the Blowing Rocks crew leaders and participants will be guided through the trails and pathways along the shoreline of the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean to collect debris left on the beach.

All supplies will be provided for you to use and no registration is required to attend the Shoreline Cleanup. The cleanup is for all ages and those under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult. You are asked to bring your own refillable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Head to Hobe Sound this Saturday for the ultimate 4th Annual Dunkin Chili Challenge. Come and taste some of the best chili as the cooks compete for the title of “Best Chili” in Hobe Sound.

The cooks will be allowed to participate in both the open and CASI rules competitions. The Dunkin’s Chili Challenge is an official CASI event and CASI rules apply. The rules include Chili cooked on site, Chili cooked from scratch, No fillers in the Chili, Sanitation and Inspection of the cooking conditions.
In addition to the “Best Chili” contest there will also be a Salsa Contest to see who has the best and hottest Salsa in Hobe Sound.

Head to Hobe Sound this Saturday for the Christmas Parade and Craft Stroll. This year, the parade is expected to be the biggest parade procession to date.

The parade route will begin along Dixie Highway and Bridge Road. The holiday parade procession will include decorated golf carts, floats, flying reindeer, go karts, boats, RV’s, antique Firetrucks, horses and helicopter flyovers to kick off the holiday fun. More than 1,500 parade participants are expected.

The Hobe Sound Centre Building on Bridge Road will be the Viewing Stand for the parade. The Viewing Stand will also serve as the Judging Stand. On the buildings’ balcony, DJ Dancensound will be blasting all the holiday favorites and latest holiday hits.

The Food Truck event is held at the JV Reed Park. The fun filled night includes delicious food from local and regional Gourmet Food Trucks, cocktails, craft and local vendors, live music and entertainment and much more.

What is Fire Fest? Fire Fest is a popular event to teach the community the crucial role of prescribed fire in protecting Florida’s native wildlife and plants.

Free family activities include: day and night fire demos, Smokey the Bear, Fire Trucks, Kid’s activities and prizes, live music, a spooky trail, marshmallow roasting and a whole lot more! There will also be some special activities that will require a small fee, such as: Interactive hayrides, swamp buggy trail rides and a giant obstacle course and toddler bounce house. October is a month full of fun, family fall-themed activities. Bring the kids and enjoy the Hobe Sound Hometown Festival, hosted by the GFWC Hobe Sound Woman’s Club.

The GFWC (General Federation of Women’s Clubs) was founded in 1890. It is an international women’s organization devoted to community improvement by boosting the lives of others through volunteer service. The club has more than 100,000 members in associated clubs in every state and over a dozen countries.

The festival is a free community event that will have entertainment, vendors, community information, a designated parking area for antique cars, a scarecrow building contest and the Sheriff Department BBQ unit. A great time for the entire family!
