The weekend is finally here, and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting a list of events that everyone can enjoy. Head over to the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center this weekend and join in on the fun.

Public Guided Tours: Offered everyday at 12 pm and 2 pm

Visitors will learn about each sea turtle patient housed there during the tours and the Loggerhead Marinelife Staff will be there to answer all your questions about sea turtles, the ocean, the center itself, and marine life. The daily Public Guided Tours are offered twice a day due to their popularity. The tours are offered at 12 pm and 2 pm and last approximately an hour. Every Sunday during the month of December, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their reoccurring Hammock Hike. The Hammock Hike consists of an entirely outdoor excursion into the coastal hammock habitat near the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center.

The program will cover and discuss the importance of these coastal ecosystems, explain and identify plants and animals, and the hike will end with an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. The hike is led by on of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s experienced biologists.

All ages are welcomed to attend the Hammock Hike. The event is an outdoor walking excursion and lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Located within five miles north of Jupiter in Martin County is the Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The Florida State Park sits between Tequesta and Hobe Sound. The state park is named after a Quaker merchant named Jonathan Dickinson who wreaked his boat off the coast in 1696.

During the second World War, the area served as an Army base and home to Camp Murphy. The barracks are still visible throughout the park today. Following the war, the land was transferred back to the state in 1947 to be used as a state park.  The Jonathan Dickinson State Park officially opened to the public in 1950.

Today, the park is home to a variety of natural habitats, river swamps, wildlife, hiking and biking trails, mangroves, guided tours of Trapper Nelson’s 1930s pioneer…

The Florida State Park is located five miles north of Jupiter in Martin County between Tequesta and Hobe Sound. Jonathan Dickinson State Park got is name after a Quaker merchant named Jonathan Dickinson who wreaked his boat off the coast in 1696.

Earlier this week, Governor DeSantis announced a slow plan to reopen the state of Florida and Palm Beach County.  It was announced on Monday by the Palm Beach County Mayor and County Commissioners that some recreational facilities may reopen as of yesterday with restrictions to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.  

Yesterday, Wednesday, April 29th, many recreational facilities in Palm Beach County after being closed for the past few weeks due to Covid-19.  Many parks in Palm Beach County reopened yesterday but not all. 

Restrictions for visiting parks include:
