The Kravis Center for Performing Arts in West Palm Beach has announced their new upcoming 2019/2020 season for their popular Kravis on Broadway Series. 

This season, seven Broadway shows will take the stage this fall. The Kravis Center will also be revealing some of their new enhancements and exciting new changes from their expansion project that is currently underway.

Tickets for the first three shows this season will be on sale, either online or at the box office on October 5th. The remaining “on sale” dates will be announced for the remaining four shows at a later date.

The Kravis on Broadway Schedule includes:

Fiddler on the Roof: November 12th through November 17th
The Play That Goes Wrong: December 10th through December 15th

Formally known as Whitehall, the Flagler Museum is one of the most famous homes and landmarks on the island of Palm Beach. The grand estate features 100,000 square feet and was built in 1902 by Henry Flagler as a wedding gift to his wife Mary.

Flagler was an American Industrialist and founder of Standard Oil and is known for developing Florida’s East Coast and responsible for making Palm Beach, America’s first resort destination. For the construction of the estate, Flagler commissioned John Carrere and Thomas Hastings to design and build the mansion. Carrere and Hastings were also the architects for the New York Public Library and the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City during the Gilded Age.

The Grassy Water Preserve is hosting their Kayak Cruise on Saturday, August 3rd at their Nature Center.

During the Kayak Cruise, you’ll guide through the shallow waters of the Everglades while learning about the history and ecology of the Grassy Water Preserve.

The Kayak Cruise begins at 9:30 am on Saturday, August 3rd. With Check-in beginning at 9 am at the Nature Center on Northlake Boulevard. Space is limited and reservations are required to participate. Children must be 6 years old or older with a participating adult. The cost is $10 dollars per adult and $5 dollars per child.

Everyday throughout the month of August, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is hosting their Hatchling Releases.

The Hatchling Release program is a unique experience that allows the public to learn about the nesting and hatching process of sea turtles. The program is an after-hours program and begins at 8 pm every night during the month. The night begins where visitors can view the center’s current sea turtle patients in their outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, followed by a trip down to the beach to see a Marinelife staff member release a sea turtle hatchling into the ocean.

The Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee has added a new water park and it is now open for business. The new Safari Falls is a much anticipated 10,000 square foot water attraction that opened Wednesday, July 31st.

Safari Falls features a 550-gallon dump bucket that splashes water every 5 minutes, water slides and water cannons. The new attraction is included in the cost of admission to the park and is located in the original Safari Splash Playground which was mainly used by small children. The new attraction is three times the size of the original water area and can accommodate up to 300 guests at a time.

This weekend the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter is hosting a Hawaiian Luau during the Jupiter Hammerheads baseball game.

During the event there will be an authentic family-style Hawaiian dinner, specialty cocktails, Polynesian Dance performances from Mai-Kai, and a raffle to win two airplane vouchers for flights to Hawaii. Be sure to wear your favorite Hawaiian print shirt to the event.

This Thursday, August 1st the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is releasing a Sea Turtle back into the ocean. Pre-release procedures begin at 10 am with the Release beginning at 10:30 am.

The turtle being released is Vitti, a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle that was found in February in the Florida Power and Light St. Lucie intake canal. When the turtle came into the center, the turtle was underweight, lethargic, in poor health and the blood work showed anemia and hypoglycemia. After a few months of treatment and medicine, Vitti is now able to be released into the ocean.

Vitti will be prepared for release on Thursday at 10 am and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff will go over the turtle’s history and recovery. The sea turtle releases are weather…

This Friday night, the Palm Beach Zoo is hosting their reoccurring summer event, Safari Nights: First Fridays.

On the first Friday of the month, the zoo stays open late for extended hours for you to explore the exhibits, enjoy the new Nature Pavilion, splash around in the interactive play foundation and much more.

This one is the final one of the summer season and the theme for First Friday is Luau. Those who attend and dress up maybe entered to win special prizes. The event starts at 4:30 pm and goes until 9 pm.
