Theatre Arts Production is offering free tickets for a live musical performance in Wellington. “Matilda The Musical” will be presented on August 19-20, 2022. The musical's narrative centers on Matilda, a precocious 5-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis. She loves reading and overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school. Additionally, Matilda helps her favorite teacher regain her life. 

The gifted and bright little girl develops a love of reading. In the face of her contemptuous parents and difficult principal at school, Matilda incorporates rebellion with her magical powers. The production takes place at Wellington High School, 2101 Greenview Shores Boulevard, in Wellington.

Happy Birthday, Howley’s! The iconic Howley’s Diner, located at 4700 South Dixie Highway, in West Palm Beach has been a mainstay for comfort grub from early morning into the wee hours and turns 72 years old today. The big birthday celebration happens all-day Saturday, August 13, 2022.

This historic diner was opened in 1950 by the Howley family but went through a happified renovation in 2004 with a new culinary twist on a “greasy spoon” diner.  The birthday celebration will go to retro prices a la 1950s. That means Howley’s smash burgers and pulled pork sandwiches will be priced at 72 cents on Saturday. Yes, 72 cents!!!!

Bubble Blast shows are 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. August 13, 2022, and August 14, 2022, featuring bubbles at an interactive splash fountain and other fun for kids. Bubbles provide the opportunity to study science concepts such as elasticity, surface tension, chemistry, light, and even geometry. The Friends of Jupiter Beach's August beach cleanup is slated for this Saturday, August 6th, 2022, from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Ocean Cay Park in Jupiter. The beach cleanup helps to keep trash away from the local wildlife while also helping to maintain the beaches for generations to come. For more information on the Friends of Jupiter Beach clean-up efforts please visit the FJB Facebook page.
