Please join this month’s Friends of Jupiter Beach Cleanup on Saturday, March 5, 2022, beginning at 8:00 am – 10:00 am. The March beach cleanup is sponsored by Florida, Power, and Light. We clean a two and ½ mile stretch from the Juno Beach Pier to the southern edge of Carlin Park crossovers 22-59. Head on over to Jupiter beach this Saturday morning and join the Friends of Jupiter Beach as they help clean up the area coastline.  Friends of Jupiter Beach is a nonprofit 501(c)3 whose goal is to support and maintain environmentally health, clean and dog-friendly beaches in Jupiter.

American Humane is the country’s first national humane organization, founded in 1877. The organization announced the official start of the 2022 American Humane Hero Dog Awards campaign. The 12th annual, yearlong campaign seeks to identify and honor the best of our best friends and will culminate this fall with the star-studded American Humane Hero Dog Awards Gala on November 11, 2022, in Palm Beach.

Dog owners across the country are invited to visit herodogawards.org and nominate their heroic hound in one of seven categories. This fall, the top dog in each category will appear at the star-studded, red-carpet awards gala and one of the seven will be named the American Hero Dog of the Year – the most prestigious honor a canine can receive.

The State of Florida only has a few remaining Dog-Friendly Beaches in the entire state and the Town of Jupiter is proud to have one of them.  Jupiter Beach is doggone-friendly! In 1989, the town adopted the policy to allow dogs to play on the beach.  Since then, the stretch of sand where dogs are permitted has grown to 2.5 miles long. The Dog-Friendly Beach area stretches from Carlin Park at Beach Marker #57 to Marcinski Road at Beach Marker #25. In this designated area, dogs are allowed to play freely while being supervised by their owners.

Pet owners are requested to abide by the Town of Jupiter simple rule's simple rules to maintain the dog-friendly beach.

It is a perfect opportunity to bring your fur baby out and about. This Saturday, January 8, 2022, is Paw Crawl 2022 in beautiful Downtown Abacoa, Jupiter.  This is a chance for friends and the community to come together to have fun and to support a great cause! Proceeds from the event will benefit Mutty Paws Rescue a 501C3 non-profit organization. Thousands of animals nationwide are abandoned or neglected, their fate left uncertain or in the hands of overpopulated animal shelters.

Jupiter is located in northern Palm Beach County and offers canine owners the added advantage of being able to bring their beloved dogs to the beach.  It is not just any section of the beach though.  The dog-friendly section stretches for 2 ½ miles along A1A.  Specifically, from crossover #25 on the south end to #59 on the north end.

Keep dogs on leash or under control and always supervised. It is a busy road, please leash your pet from the car to the beach, around small children, at the water fountains, showers and at the crossovers.  Jupiter residents and visitors are very fortunate to have a Town Council and Beach Committee that support the idea of dogs on the beach.

This week, COVID-19 healthcare heroes received a special gift that will hopefully bring some love and happiness into their lives. Jupiter Realtor Rob Thomson donated $15,000 to pay the adoption fees at Big Dog Ranch Rescue for those dealing with the pandemic on the front lines.

“The emotional toll of dealing with families and patients in our community who have been affected by Covid-19 is tremendous,” Thomson said. “I hope our frontline workers will consider adopting a new friend so they may enjoy a warm and loving companion. Is your dog FAST? Back by popular demand after 20+ years, this Saturday, January 13th 2021, Palm Beach Kennel Club is bringing back the “Mutt Derby” where your dog can be a racing star for the day!

The day will be filled with lots of activities for the family, a pet parade with the National Anthem, live entertainment, a dog costume contest, and trackside BBQ.
