Once a month, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum host a hike through their 120-acre Outstanding Natural Area. As the place where the Loxahatchee River and Indian River Lagoon come together, it has yielded signs of early cultures living along these significant waters. Step back in time and experience natural undeveloped Jupiter and Tequesta on the hike.

Open sunrise to sunset. There are two trails. Enjoy a 1.5-mile trek through the area, learning about the topography and natural history, stopping at historic points along the way including the lighthouse. The hike lasts approximately two hours. Wear hiking footwear, activewear, a hat, sunglasses, and bring a big bottle of water because you will be out in the sun.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is a non-profit sea turtle hospital, rehabilitation, and Research Center. The center’s mission is aimed to protect and promote the oceans ecosystems and to be one of the leading destinations to provide for injured and endangered sea turtles before being released back into the ocean.

The waterfront at Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is set to bring lots of giggles and smiles to children and their families. The treasured children’s carousel made its return to the area on January 20. The beloved ride was disassembled in August 2020 and has been beautifully refurbished with a fresh look. Ever wonder how many shades of color can be seen in the waterways, skies, or preserves of Jupiter and Tequesta? I have no idea either, but you can attempt to keep a count of the various shades with a libation in hand at one of the local waterfront eateries. Be intentional and mindful of the colors you perceive in nature.

With water in varying blue shades of the Caribbean Sea, shell-filled beaches, a chill relaxed vibe from the 6.2 miles of Atlantic coastline there are more shades than can be mentioned. The blue color of ocean water is an inherent property caused by the selective absorption and scattering of white light.
