The city of Palm Beach Gardens is suitably named, as it is comprised of 30 percent flourishing greenery. Located seven miles north of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens is known for its excellent shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities at the Gardens Mall, Downtown at the Gardens, and Legacy Place. Boating and fishing are plentiful, as are beautiful luxurious waterfront homes, some even sitting directly on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, if not the Intracoastal Waterway.

This week some of the best golfers in the world have gathered at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens for the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic. While everyone will flock to the Champion course to catch a glimpse of Tiger, Rory, and others try and take down the famed Bear Trap, the Honda Classic is much more than just the Thursday-Sunday tournament.

Wednesday’s Kenny G Celebrity Pro Am brought attention to something close to the hearts of not just the local residents but people from around the country, wounded warriors and veterans. Several wounded veterans took the course as caddies on Wednesday to raise awareness for two different charities. Caddies for the Cure aids victims of Fanconi anemia, which is a rare bone marrow disorder. The other charity, fairways…

“We want to make sure the golf course stays in the best condition as we work toward Thursday,” tournament director Ed McEnroe told The Palm Beach Post. “We don’t want it to become too sloppy out there and potentially affect the golf course come competition time.

Rain could affect more than just yesterday’s event. More rain is expected on Tuesday afternoon, when the pros are expected to get their first of two practice…

After Wednesday’s weather transformed Dove Mountain from a golf course to a winter wonderland full of snow and ice, golfers returned Thursday to either finish or start their first round matchups in the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship. Just like they did the day before, they waited around for hours on Thursday as they waited for conditions to become favorable enough to play as well as course staff to finish shoveling snow off of most of the fairways and greens. It ended up being a one-and-done day for 32 golfers, several of which are some of the top golfers in the world. Here is a recap from day one,…

Cirque Du Soleil: Totem Miami

The 28th show in the Cirque franchise visits South Florida through February 24, 2013.  From the Jupiter or Palm Beach Gardens area, the venue, adjacent to the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, at the Miami-Dade and Broward County line is just 60 minutes away.

The story premise of “Totem” imagines humankind’s evolution into contemporary day living.  Amusing images of a modern day executive and various stages of Darwinian man, unicyclists, and colorful acrobats perform death-defying feats. Nonstop twirl formations throughout the aquatic performance as others gracefully swim underneath a tilted stage from imaginary water.
