Palm Beach County is full of movie crews and celebrities while filming scenes for the upcoming movie, Baywatch, which is based on the popular television show in the 1990’s. The new movie, directed by Seth Gordon is scheduled to be released next year, 2017!

Closing down a beachfront park of South Inlet Park and the City of Boca Raton’s jetty in Boca Raton, Florida, the movie stars such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Zac Efron and the original actor from the series David Hasselhoff can get to acting!

Permits were issued for stunt scenes which included a distressed kite surfer who is recused when an actor jumps off the jetty into the water and another scene shows actors tossing a “body” into the water near the Boca Inlet.

The South Florida Science Museum and Aquarium unveiled plans for this week for expansion and a new outdoor park, which includes a miniature golf course.  Jim Fazio and Gary Nicklaus have designed the outdoor park. Both of the miniature golf course designers are sons of local legends in the golfing industry.

To be named the “Conservation Course”, and projected to open this spring, the miniature golf course “will be used for putting clinics and tournaments, and to teach kids the elementary principles of force, motion and angles”.

Why do we have a leap year every four years? A leap year is when an extra day is added to the end of February every four years. It all comes down to the solar system's discrepancy with the Gregorian calendar.

What do you do if you were born on February 29th.The chances of having a leap birthday are one in 1,461. It is suggested if you were born in the am, celebrate annually on February 28.  If you were born in the afternoon, celebrate on March 1.  However, if you are a true “leaper” you should only celebrate every four years, which at a certain age becomes very advantageous!

The Norton Museum of Art celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.  To commemorate the diamond anniversary the museum is expanding!  The Norton opened in 1941 and is globally known for its notable permanent collection featuring American Art, Chinese Art, Contemporary Art, European Art and Photography. The Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches held a meeting last week with local arts groups and cordiality companies.  The discussion pertained to a concerted effort by the Cultural Council to boost the number of tourists who travel to the Palm Beaches.
