Edgar Allan Poe (January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) was an American writer.  Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre.  The most recurring themes of his writings deal with questions of death, the effects of decomposition, concerns of premature burial, the revival of the dead, and mourning.  He was considered a "mad man" or a "troubled genius".

The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival is bringing this "madman" to life in an original production of EDGAR, a play conceived by Shakespeare Festival founder and director Kermit Christman. The show premiered in 1994 and has since toured South Florida.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park just north of Jupiter, in Hobe Sound, is a natural wildlife park worthy of exploring with the entire family.  The park offers two full facility campgrounds and a youth/group simple campground.  The park itself rests several miles off the coastal shores of South Florida.  Almost 11,500 acres of land and Loxahatchee River host thirteen ecological communities from swamps to pine flatwoods, a “biological community so rare it is designated “globally imperiled”.

The Palm Beach Opera season will begin mid-January and end in early April on Mainstage Opera at the Kravis Center, West Palm Beach.  Opening night, January 22, 2016, at the Opera: "Carmen!"

The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium  and Bricks 4 Kidz would like to make youth camps, interesting classes and other fun events  readily available to the northern Palm Beach County Area.  The proposed new center will be in the Town of Jupiter’s Abacoa Community.

A new, healthy, fast, casual food chain called Freshii is coming to the Jupiter area.  A local chef and former "Food Network" contestant, Josh Lyons, will open the franchise. 

The ultra-healthy Toronto-based fast food chain has about 200 locations, but the only other store in South Florida is located in Miami. Today, there are Freshii locations in over 75+ cities and 15 countries worldwide.
