Bottom line, you need to leave skin on your fillets when bringing fish back to Florida from the Bahamas.  The final rule implementing Amendment 7 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Dolphin Wahoo Fishery of the Atlantic and Amendment 33 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Snapper-Grouper Fishery of the South Atlantic Region (Dolphin, Wahoo Amendment 7 and Snapper-Grouper Amendment 33) published on December 28, 2015 (80 FR 80686). A new, healthy, fast, casual food chain called Freshii is coming to the Jupiter area.  A local chef and former "Food Network" contestant, Josh Lyons, will open the franchise. 

The ultra-healthy Toronto-based fast food chain has about 200 locations, but the only other store in South Florida is located in Miami. Today, there are Freshii locations in over 75+ cities and 15 countries worldwide.

The local golf community has lost a longtime rules official and major player in the local golf community.

H. Mallory Privett, a memmber of both the South Florida PGA and FSGA Halls of Fame, died on December 26th at the age of 79 after losing his battle to a lengthy illness. Privett, who served as mayor of North Palm Beach from 1971-74, spent much of the past 23 years since his retirement serving as a rules official and volunteer coordinator, serving as Volunteer Chairman of the Honda Classic from 2006-12. In November, he became just the third recipient of the Florida State Golf Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Changes are coming to the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass after this year's PLAYERS Championship. 

Following the 2016 edition of the season's so-called "Fifth Major", the course known for its famous island green will close for six months as several major changes will be made to the course. The most naotable of those changes will be a complete re-design of the par 4 12th hole.

Widely considered as highly underwhelming, the 12th in its current state is the shortest on the course measuing in at 358 yards. While the exact yardage of what it will be after the de-design is not known, the early reports are that after the changes, the hole will become a drivable par 4, adding more intrigue to the course.
