Guests who visit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach can support sea turtles through their ‘Adopt a Sea Turtle’ program. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a non-profit sea turtle research, rehabilitation and sea turtle hospital whose mission is aimed to protect the ocean ecosystems and all Marinelife. Loggerhead provides care and treatment for injured and endangered sea turtles before being released back into the ocean.

The ‘Adopt a Sea Turtle’ program costs $35 dollars for the basic adoption package to adopt and your money goes to benefit the center for research and continued care for the injured and sick sea turtles. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is hosting their weekly Hammock Hike this Friday, March 8th.

The Hammock Hike is led by an experienced Naturalist and the beach walks and hammock hikes are an excursion through some of South Florida’s natural habits. The hikes navigate through the coastal hammock and the natural dune systems. Along the way, you’ll learn about all the birds and trees along the journey through the sand on the beach.

The Hammock Hikes are in partnership with the Palm Beach County ERM Natural Area division. The hike is free to attend. Click here to register.

This Friday join the River Center in Jupiter for an exciting family-friendly adventure, the Sandbar and Seashell Family Boating tour and Snorkeling Exploration.

Climb onboard the Osprey boat for a fun trip on the Loxahatchee River. Here you’ll be able to hunt for seashells, snorkeling and get some sunshine, while docking at the sandbar. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, water, snacks and snorkeling gear. Guests will be getting on and off the boat at several times through the day.

The boat will launch this Friday, February 22nd from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Burt Reynold’s Park off of US Highway 1 in Jupiter. Registration is required because of limited space. Click here to register. The cost is $20 dollars for kids and $30 dollars for adults.

The River Center in Jupiter and the United States Coast Guard team up several times a year to provide a number of Boating Safety classes. The boating safety classes are aimed for young boaters in the area, but all are welcomed to attend to learn how to navigate the waterways.

The safety class are provided by the AustinBlu Foundation, a non-profit that is dedicated to raising awareness about safety on the water and to promote education programs.

The cost to attend the class is free, however a deposit is required to reserve your spot in the class. The deposit of $10 dollars will be refunded in full to all who attend the class.

The final countdown for the Miami International Boat Show is just days away from one of the world’s largest and greatest boat shows of the year. Thursday, February 14th is the opening day for more than 3000 boats and yachts on display both in the water and on land.

The show features thousands of the newest and best sailboats, powerboats, electronics, marine accessories, demonstrations, food and beverages, and engines from more than 2000 manufactures and vendors. The 2019 Manatee Lagoon Festival is back again this weekend. The ManateeFest kicks off tomorrow Friday, February 1st with a Movie Night Kickoff.
