Many people think that real estate in Southeast Florida suddenly comes to a stop when the holiday season approaches. Homebuyers searching during the holidays are typically more motivated to get into a home faster than buyers home shopping during other months of the year. They may also be eager to close on the house before the end of the year, whether it is for tax purposes or to get settled before kicking off a new job.

Consider the following:

  1. People who look for a home during the holidays are generally more serious buyers.
  2. The supply of homes listed will dramatically increase in January, thusly more product, less demand, demanding in less money for your home.
  3. Buyers may be more emotional during the holidays, thusly more willing to pay…

The temperatures have cooled in Palm Beach County and the manatees are back in our warm shallow waters.  The warmer water provides the ultimate opportunity to meet one of our most-loved residents, the Florida manatee. The loved “sea cows” are massive marine mammals that live in the coastal waters of Florida.

Manatees have earned the reputation as gentle giants.  They are large, slow-moving marine mammals with an elongated, round body and paddle-shaped flippers and tails. Manatees are herbivores, feeding solely on seagrass, algae, and other vegetation in freshwater and estuarine systems in the southeastern United States.  Manatees on average weigh up to 1,000 pounds and up to ten feet in length.

Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday, often referred to as the "Festival of Lights." Most families also serve special holiday foods, sing songs, play games, and give gifts including Hanukah gelt also known as chocolate coins.

The Hanukkah story is based on historical events that took place in 165 BCE in Jerusalem. After the Second Temple in Jerusalem was desecrated, a Jewish priest, Mattathias, and his sons rebelled. Retaking Jerusalem and the Temple,…

Have you ever wondered where the phrase “Black Friday” came from?  Well, “Black Friday” is a term used for two unrelated occasions. Historically, “black” has been associated with days of economic stress as opposed to days of booming commercial success. The name “Black Friday” is also used to refer to September 24,…
